sidmonster Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 TK, I am really enjoying my MB-SID and I would like to thank you again for such a wonderful project. I have been using the lead engine with LFO modulating the filter to make some fat dubstep wobbling basslines! I would like to be able to have the LFO rate divisible by triplets, currently it can only do 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 etc... I remember in a previous thread you said you would add this in an update but a new RC was released since then and it still behaves the same. Is this something I can change, and if so how? Thanks! m00dawg Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 +1 and, once I move and have money again will be willing to donate beers :) I, too, have been trying the wobblebass and, in fact, will be using it something like that in one of my bands songs coming up. I couldn't get the wobble to sound quite synced up the way I wanted though - triplets would probably help out a lot I'd imagine. Quote
TK. Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 All rates from 1..243 are synchronized to MIDI clock as well, so this would just only be an option for more comfort - but in fact you can already do the typical wobbling basslines, no need to hurry (at my side :) ) To switch between different "meaningful wobble rates", I would propose to enter some good working values into a wavetable, and to select the wavetable position with a knob function, which can be forwarded in the modulation matrix to the LFO rate. You should also consider to reset the LFO with Note On events (-> trigger matrix), play different rhythms (same or different notes) and change the LFO rate interactively - this should result into much more interesting effects. Difficult? I could create an example patch... but not before monday. Best Regards, Thorsten. Quote
m00dawg Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Ah good points, TK! Didn't even think of using wavetables, that's actually very clever! Samples are great! I'm happy to share mine, although, sadly, my synths are packed as I move this weekend. So I won't have anything by Monday (at the earliest) either. While we're talking about Dubstep, anyone have any thoughts on how to do the BZZZZEEEERRRRR resonant slide thing I often hear? (Skrillex does that a lot, which, honestly, is about the limit to most Dubstep I like). Quote
m00dawg Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Ever since I posted my last comment I've been thinking about how to do the BZZZRRTTT patch thing. Here is my first attempt!DropIt.zipDropIt.wav.mp3 Quote
