taximan
Hiya, I have 4x 6581 and 2x 8580 sids that I would like to sell to fund other projects, what I need to know is the best way of testing they are 100% okay before selling them. Is there a way/method to test them as being suitable for sale? cheers Paul
rosch
if you have the MBSid just try the different waveforms of the individual oscillators, the ADSR of the oscillators and if the filter ADSR works. that should be it.
toadstool
This is what I did when selling mine: ....a *little* over the top perhaps but I do recommend the ploguechipsounds test using the short BASIC programme on a real C64. You could use the recordings of how the test sounds on the different chips I sold as a reference. The test is quite thorough though doesn't incorporate PWM sweeps, hard sync or ring mod tests. sparx
I use the Prophet 64 Cart on a real C64, tests each oscillator and also a test tune can be played. Am sure there is a BASIC listing somewhere which does this too.
