Hawkeye Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) Hi there, me recently got an "emergency usb charger" from china, for the price of less than 2 Euros including shipping! Just look in the ´bay for similar offers... It contains a small step-up voltage converter, that creates 5V from the 2.4V of the 2 rechargable AAs - it is listed as 500ma max USB current, but that may be chinese overstatement :-) It is totally sufficient for a Seq V4 lite, though :) You can "hack" the case open and put it directly below the ´lite control surface PCB, so it is all in one box, which i have not done yet... Edit: The battery runtime on 2x AA with 2000mAh is about 2.5 hours, enough for a quick session :-) Enjoy! Greets, Peter Edited February 6, 2012 by Hawkeye Quote
Antix Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 I remember about your fried step-up converter... :bye: when the going get rough the tough get going :super: Quote
Hawkeye Posted February 6, 2012 Author Report Posted February 6, 2012 Hehe, yes, mad world :-) The whole chinese step-up-converter including case, switch, battery holder and shipping from china was cheaper than the step-up-converter chip from Reichelt (of course excluding shipping), which I sucessfully toasted :) Greets, Peter Quote
Gilesjuk Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) Talking of batteries, I have a Z-wave home automation controller that came with a battery pack so you can power the controller while you walk around the house and pair it with your kit. This is the unit, it seems to be reasonably well made: http://www.security-warehouse.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1836 Thought this might be handy for some of the other projects :) Edited February 6, 2012 by Gilesjuk Quote
