maththeband
My sammichSID is getting 12.1 volts where it is supposed to be getting exactly 12. i am using a regulated power supply. my question is, will this cause problems? i have tried one 6581, and the filter did not work. i dont know if the filter was blown to start with though. could this voltage difference be causing the filter to not work right? I don't think 12,1V should be a problem. Maybe your 6581 was already damaged?

Maybe your 6581 was already damaged? thats what i thought, but i have tried 5 different 6581s now. each time, the osc's get much quieter when the filter is applied. maybe i am just unlucky? nILS
12.1V is just 1% above what you want. That's definitely not an issue. At all. Besides - how do you know that the "problem" isn't the tolerance in your meter? ;) 6581s with broken filters are pretty common, that's much more likely.
