fourfour
Hey guys. I feel super stupid atm. I can't get anything to work as expected. I need to get back the basics here. I am have the LPC17 and a DOUT connected via J8. I hooked up an LED to Vs and D7 and entered 'set dout all 0'. I am still getting 5v at D7 all the time. Nothing else is connected. What am I doing wrong? Board specs attached. Thanks!! -eric
kpete
Why don't you try setting all the Dout's to 1 with the command "set dout all 1" and see if it changes things. The outputs might be inverted in your configuration. Pete
fourfour
Hey Pete. Ya, I tried that already. I also tried setting individual pins to 0|1 and nothing happens.
Duggle
Have you eliminated basic wiring error? (I suppose the cable could be in backwards...) Can you post a picture?
fourfour
Hey Duggle. I am getting voltage to the DOUT board, tried using J8 and J9. Here are some pics, thanks for your help!! https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.hipchat.com/14874/54948/jijmbr9a06d226i/IMG_9264.jpg https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.hipchat.com/14874/54948/szsbs0p7lz9nyxs/IMG_1599.JPG

TK.
Correct! @fourfour: don't forget to spend spirit a beer for his careful observation! :) Best Regards, Thorsten.
fourfour
@spirit: oh my, thanks for catching that. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the issue. LED still on all the time. I checked my wiring again over the whole board. (how do you send a beer?)
Duggle
It's not clear from the photos the connections from core to dout (all wires are white). Why not IDC/ribbons? They can be sourced cheaply (from the right places) they are very quick, neat, extremely reliable, and hard to get wrong connections. fourfour
@duggle: I assumed they just mirrored J8 e.g Vs Vd Si Sc Rc I have some ribbons on order. The site didn't state that I needed to order them separately. Thanks for your help.
Spirit
ahh yes you also see that on the pic but you use the wrong Row pins... you need to use J9: VS VD SO <----!!!! SC RC1 SI = for DIN (Buttons/Encoders) SO= DOUT (LED) /Spirit Edited May 19, 2013 by Spirit
