Shuriken Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 I am currently constructing a PSU for my MB6582 unit. The PSU will consist of a Meanwell RPT60 with a LM2596 circuit to make the required 9 Volts. I already have a DIN7 connector, just need a proper cable to go from the PSU to the MB6582. I feel a bit silly, but i am unsure what kind of cable to use for this. I could use a 4 core 230Volt cable for this, but that would be overkill and also would be way to thick. However i don't seem to be able to find anything that fits the bill. Any suggestions would be helpfull. Quote
Hawkeye Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) Any cable with an area of 0,14mm² should be sufficient for 2 amps per wire - you can harvest old C64 PSU or floppy serial cables, or buy s.th like this from Reichelt: http://www.reichelt.de/Steuerleitung/LIYY-414-5/3//index.html?ACTION=3&GROUPID=3326&ARTICLE=10368&SHOW=1&OFFSET=500& Edit: Reference sheet containing wire copper area <-> max current load specs: http://www.dieelektronikerseite.de/Sheets/Strom%20Einzelader.htm Many greets and have a successful new year! Shuriken Posted January 8, 2014 Author Report Posted January 8, 2014 Thanks Peter, i will put that on my (ever growing) shopping list at Reichelt. Quote
NorthernLightX Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I've got some left over 4 core cable from 2 failed C64 PSU's that you can have for free. I only don't know if it's long enough for your liking. Quote
NorthernLightX Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 The cable is about 1 meter long. If you want it just write me a PM or email  Quote
