FantomXR Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 Hey people, I wonder if there is a chance to open a MIDI port twice on windows. I want to run a host, which plays the plugin but I want simultaneously run MIOSStudio to edit the controller. I tried the GM5 driver, but when installing it I do get an error. Thanks, Chris Quote
novski Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 As far as i know thats not possible. Because a Midi Port is quite similar to a Serial Port, and there for sure its not possible. But most of the core run more than one Midi IN/OUT ports. The only core known by me that has just one is the old 8 bit PIC18Fxxxx. What OS are you working with? best regards, novski Quote
FantomXR Posted April 6, 2015 Author Report Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) I'm working on 8.1. Okay, so... you say, that I may use port 2 for the host and port 1 for MIOS? I didn't try out it yet... thanks for the suggestion! Edited April 6, 2015 by FantomXR Quote
novski Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 Hi FantomXR Yes there is also a Midi-Router inside MIOS so you are able to route the Hosts you have to different ports as well... What application are you running? you can type help in the MIOS "send command" line to get some help and the momentary status of your router... Quote
