EsotericLabs Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 Hello! I found this nice lil' schematic on the web http://solderintheveins.co.uk/2009/12/simple-audio-switch/ I guess our beloved DOUT would do the job for driving this. Am I correct? Quote
Zam Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 Hi Yes, no problem to drive a relay with transistor switching at Dout, but keep in mind relay will produce a clic at audio side, so it depend of the application. Best Zam Quote
EsotericLabs Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 (edited) thnx again Zam, guess its worth trying! There are special line level audio switching delays, see this thread https://www.gearslutz.com/board/geekslutz-forum/655766-how-choose-relay-audio-switching.html Might be good fun to put some in my SEQ-in-progress.. Zam Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 I try it, for low internal level, mixing desk, mute function, usable for mix/repro operation, but not for automation at mixdown. I don't valid this after evaluation. So it's simple, if it's for monitor or "off" record function relay are fine and easy Best Zam Quote
EsotericLabs Posted February 3, 2016 Author Report Posted February 3, 2016 yes i also want them mainly for audio routing not mixing. Quote
AVLG Posted February 3, 2016 Report Posted February 3, 2016 (edited) Hello EsotericLabs! Actually you don't even need DOUT, I'm driving relay modules right from J10B pins on my CORE_STM32F4. These relay modules are really cheap, 1 euro from AliExpress, have LED indicator, powered by 5V, draw <70ma in ON state, can switch up to 10A at 230V (yep, how about MIDIfying your coffee machine? ;) ) but the relay have only SPDT contact group, means you need 2 relay modules to switch stereo signal. For switching audio signals I'd also consider using 4051/4052/4053 analog multiplexer ICs dependig on the audio routing configuration needed, or Vishay DG201/408/409 for higher voltages found in modular synths. EsotericLabs Posted February 10, 2016 Author Report Posted February 10, 2016 Thank you! I will certainly midify my coffee machine and the on/of of my mixer for nice stutter effect. And take a look at them multiplier IC's. Quote
