JazzyPidjay
Hi i love touchsensors :o !!!thanks for this Thorsten you change my way of life !! 8)with this test board, i can make toms rolls or phat breakbeatswith only one finger, and a small circular movement !! :oBUT... :-\when i touch two sensors in the same time, i heard one or the other sound randomly.is there a way to have touchsensors acting like buttons ??? (polyphonic?)I wish that it be possible by any means.... :'(
JazzyPidjay
i'm sorry the touchsensors are already polyphonics !!!Great ;DThanks very much Thorsten, you change my music.
jdutcher
hey, what is this that you're demonstrating? i want to build one!!!!do you have any design info or a schematic you could post?thanks
stryd_one
Yes, please share this with us! :)
stryd_one
If the notes seem erratic and the pads are definitely not triggering erratically then you might need to look at the code that is handling how the triggers send MIDI, although if you are using TK's code as designed then I am sure that the code is OK.I see you have a set of LED's assigned to the pads, do they light up as expected, or do they jump around like the MIDI notes do? JazzyPidjay
i can share all things that you want...but i have don't understand some questions ??? (i'm french)all that i can say for the moment is, I have simply use the touchesensor fonction of the DIN (with 47k & pin 14...)and made a copper board, that including the led for the DOUT(useful for the Toggle Mode)and copper for the DIN.Sensors & Leds works perfectly !! and it's the fastest way to trigger soundsthat i know !!! :o :o WOW!!if i pressed two, three, four or more sensors at the same time, no problemi received all the notes in Cubase, without any latency !!! great !!!it's definitively the heart of my future midibox, soon finished.what exactly do you wanna know ? if i can help you... ladybug
did you buy this ?or made it yourself ?if u made it by yourself ... HOW ??
JazzyPidjay
i have made it.simply draw the layout with Eagle.and use the copper side for both components& sensors.it cost about 6 €uros, (it's just my testing board)Board, Leds, Resistors, that's all(if you already have the perchlorure, etc...)it's more clear ? ladybug
ok.. i understand that, but to be more specific:how did u made the "sensors" ?

ladybug
no thats not what i meant :(i want to know how u made the "buttons" = the things u touch = the 6 triangles = the sensors
Screaming_Rabbit
i want to know how u made the "buttons" = the things u touch = the 6 triangles = the sensors... well, that's what's left over after etching... the copper
ladybug
lets see if i understand :what i see in the picture/video is only ONE (=1) one-sided board u etched ?!can u post the picture for the etching ?why does the "buttons" look as if they are convex and on-top of a separate board ?
Screaming_Rabbit
why does the "buttons" look as if they are convex and on-top of a separate board ?... this comes from the camera lens. - Look at the PCB edges.Greets, Roger
shed
well that looks realy cool.pehaps the pads should be tinned or something cos they might go green with all the touching
JazzyPidjay
exactly, on my definitive midiboxi will tinned the pads ;)and varnish each pad with a varnished conducting.here is my testing board, if it's help !? (10x15cmx300dpi)the circle is approximatively 9cm.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/jazzy_pi/pcb.jpg++

mb944
Salut mec! When i saw your cool Camambert board it struck me: THE ULTIMATE REASON REX TRAVELLER! ;Dthis circular trigger pad is going to revolutionize my musik making too, i'll use it to trigger REX slices in any way or order i want.I etched a quick board to play with, but I have the very same problems as you describe:Notes seem monophonic and are quite noisy too.how did you fix it in the end? thanks in advance, Alex
JazzyPidjay
ok good question !and i have the solution :Pexcuse my english, if u don't understand somethingit's surely because of my expression, but i try.1- the first problem i have encountered is when i touch a sensorthe message 0,127,0,127,0,127... was send in loopto resolve this problem i have simply connect the 0v of the midiboxto the ground.2- ok at this stade, when i touch a sensor it send correctly the valueslike a button. (but very quickly and intuitively)but when i touch to or more sensors, there's no more message sendor messages are send randomely.to fix this problem, i simply plug myself ;Dwith a jack in the belt directly to my skinconnected to the ground ;DNow my body was perfectly at 0v, the computer& the midibox also !! and i can touch 32 or moresensors, without any problem, like a button.i search a better way to solve this problem, but for nowi plug (myself) & play ;DNow i'm on way to design my definitive midiboxwith two circular "camembert" of 7 & 9 partsand some linear touchsensors of 12 parts... 8)From where come this purple colour of your board ? ??? mb944
HI!ok, thanks for the info!I guess i'll stick a JACK up my nose from now on ;DThe board looks purple because I took the foto with my mobile phone... ;)Have fun!Alex
