no you actually have to do something yourself.... ;)

you can buy kits though; you have to solder the modules yourself.

this is a non commercial DoItYourself only project>> more fun, educational, you name it ...

this forum will help you with problems you will encounter while building; just try and make sure

you read all the relevant info on the ucapps.de site, the Midibox WIKI pages and the forum before; because all the info you need is probably allready there!!

good luck

thanks for the reply. I don't mind doing the work, its just that I don't know a great deal about electronics & thought that a premade one would be a good way to (physically) see whats going on before embarking on making my own.

I just want to start off with a few pots & buttons & work up to bigger projects.

Get into it Meef.

IT IS GOOD.

many ideas become reality.

build a core! get an lcd (even if later u remove it) . find or design a box/panel layout. you may get your panel cut for $ or do it yourself.

it may be possible you could use just 1 DINX4 (and still get five buttons via one on the core)/ 1DOUTX4 / 1CORE.buying the pcb's will save you time and trouble.

put it all together.

by then you will have enough ideas for many midibox/mios creations for years of building. THORSTEN deserves thanks for that ! versatile platform for midi enthusiasts!

PS. sliders give u the issue of having to cut slots( can be done with any method that works..) whereas round buttons and encoders or pots are just a simple hole.
