i saw this at the AEC festival in Linz this sommer and asked how he did the buttons, suddenly a guy from yamaha was standing behind me...

nice people though, but this whole project is supported by yamaha, thats why it looks so professional.

A few questions remain: Will it ever make the streets, and will it be something we can afford? And will it be so cheap that we can do case modding ;)

Very close, in concept, to the monome controller, http://monome.org/index.php?m=0111 - which will be around 500usd for an 8x8 midicontroller with usb interface  :o

What we really need is for people to start working on the scan matrix project again - imagine fitting two cores and 8 dinx4s in a small box like that - eek...
