ohmstudiste Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Hi,I started my SID a long time ago and haven't finished it yet. Most of the stuff is done, I'm now moving to programing part.I wanted to know if it's possible to add a volume knob, either by using one of the encoder and assigning to CC7 (i guess) or by using a pot.I'd rather have that last option since I need not to use one of the encoder for that purpose. Is it doable to add a simple pot ? How to ?
TK. Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Hi,the volume register of the SID has only a resolution of 4bit, it doesn't really make sense to control it with a pot. It's better to control it on the analog wayBest Regards, Thorsten.
ohmstudiste Posted February 9, 2006 Author Report Posted February 9, 2006 So there's no way to efficiently control volume from the SID ?
Jaicen Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Why don't you just wire pots up to the audio outputs?? Seems like that would make a lot more sense. If you want to automate stuff you can assign the envelope to an LFO.
ohmstudiste Posted February 9, 2006 Author Report Posted February 9, 2006 That is exactly what i'm asking ;DWhat kind of pot should I use and where should I solder it ?
Therezin Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 I'm no electronics expert, but am I right in guessing that a 10K or 100K logarythmic pot fading between the audio out and ground would be sufficient?
