Slorrin Posted March 19, 2007 Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 The kit for the core module has 2 pin pin headers, and 1 pin pin headers.. but... i have not been able to find anything that would just have 2 pins to put two wire ribbon cables into.. the smallest size i can find is 4x2... anyone know where i can get 2x1 IDC cinch connecotrs? I need to connect 2 wires from my PSU circuit to to the pin headers on the core board.. will what you've linked me to do that? I don't know about these parts.. Jidis Posted March 19, 2007 Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 Slorrin,If you're only doing a couple, you can probably snip something from the front panel (LED/switches) junk inside an old PC case, or from a CDROM audio cable. The single row things are usually the type with the "inserts" that crimp around the wire and snap down into the plastic housing. Not really "re-usable" from the crimp part, but you can leave them as is, and splice the wire together to get a double ended one (tape or heatshrink, so you don't leave the joint exposed obviously).GeorgePS- I'm guessing you're dealing with the standard (.100") pin spacing. Slorrin Posted March 19, 2007 Author Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 It's specifically for core board 2 pin header for PSU.. so yeah... maybe i can just cut one out from the board of one of my C64s.. doesn't the LED have this sort of attachment? it's got 3 pins, but the wire's already in it.. i can cut the led off i guess.. Jidis Posted March 19, 2007 Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 That sounds right. :)You can also usually push those contact (crimp) parts out by pushing in a little metal tab on the side with a pin,etc., while you pull on the cable. That way you can rearrange the wires if need be.
