julienvoirin Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Hi MidiboxersI am building a SEQ v3 and I would like to remove the metallic shield of LCD Displays to make them thinner. It seems it can be made easily. Is there any failure to do it ? What is it supposed to do ?? (Except protecting device).Thanx Quote
nILS Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 DON'T DO IT!It holds together the whole thing. The display itself is just sitting on the contacts with no attachment whatsoever. If you remove the case the entire thing will come apart. Quote
julienvoirin Posted September 23, 2007 Author Report Posted September 23, 2007 too late ... no I am kidding ;DI were sure that this awful piece of metal was not there for nothing. I solved my problem by redesigning the panel.thanks for your reply nils Quote
nILS Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 No problem. I tried it once with an LCD I ripped out of a fax machine (it was broken beforehand, had a crack in the glass ;-)) I did manage to put it back together using some sticky tape, but even the slightest jiggle and the display will quit working... The DOG-LCDs (you can find them at conrad.de) are really tiny though. Only problem so far, they only come in 16x2... Quote
