cimo
.. i find myself on the unfinished crusade for the perfect setup.....i use 2 turntables with 2 phono preamps and Mspinky s timecoded vinyls.I route the two channels in my external soundcard and then into 2 tracks in Ableton. Therefore i take out the 2 tracks again from my soundcard (2 separate channels) and feed them in an analog mixer, from there to the amp. Now, i can t really figure out how to use return channels, since i don t use the master channel, where should i send the signal of the return channels?any idea is appreciated

Twin-X
Cimo,I don't quite get it. Why are the pre amps attached to the output of the mixer?Connect the amps to the output of the Tables. Attach those to the 2 channels of Ableton. Take 2 channels to the mixer (not set on phono) use the master as an output.I am not sure exactly how you wish to use your setup. Do you wish to use ableton also for more then only these 2 tracks?Do you use normal records on the tables as well or only timecode's?Jeffry

ganchan
if i've understand, you assign ext-out to the audio channel 1 & 2 for the turntables.you can use return A & B and assign to them the ext-out too, than you'll have tracks out and retourn out on the same audio cardo outS.
