nILS Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 That's only half the truth - you can get "drafted", but NOT to the army - they can only have you cook or work in a hospital, but never actually go into combat or use weapons :-)Now, how did we get here again? :D Quote
SLP Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Now, how did we get here again? :Dlet's just stay there ;)Yesterday there's been a so called "Studientag" at the university in Regensburg. There you were able to inform yourself about what to do after your A-levels. And now I'm seriously thinking about abroad community service ("anderer Dienst im Ausland") to avoid military service.Has anyone of you already had any experiences with something like that?nILS: Why souldn't I go to university? nILS Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 let's just stay there ;)Has anyone of you already had any experiences with something like that?Do it. Go to any english-speaking country. For some reason 85% of all employers tend to think that "Auslandserfahrung" is more valuable than anything else at the moment. Stupid fucks.nILS: Why souldn't I go to university?Um, this is a joke really. GO TO UNIVERSITY if you can! I just put that in there to show how college/studying/classes keep me from doing what I really want to do ;-) Quote
TK. Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Instead of military service, I served in a school for physically handicapped pupils. Beside of some supporting jobs, I gave computer and music lessons. I also developed some dedicated sensors for replacing a mouse or computer keyboard, etc - was really a great time, that I don't want to miss. So, thats really a contrast to military service ;)Best Regards, Thorsten. SLP Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Um, this is a joke really. GO TO UNIVERSITY if you can! Alright.. I didn't take to quite serious anyway ;)I think I'll study electrical engineering at the TUM. They said that they'll take anyone who has passed the A-levels - no matter how bad you were ;D Quote
