No I didn't, but will try that next. Between the SEQ and the various legato/port settings on my Ambika it all started getting a bit out of control and then as usual, the tune morphed into something completely different. :)

Is there a way to Note On a step and not retrigger it when the track loops around? I'm trying to get a long drone going and the retrigger is wrecking the evolvingness of my patch. I'd like a note "on" and then left alone.

Hi folks,
Is there a way to use tracks containing parameters only (CC's in this case) and apply them to other note tracks? Perhaps using some bus shennanigans?

Cable wasn't fully seated into the socket underneath the CS. While it looked like it was in, it was at very slight angle meaning that channel wasn't made.

Replaced U7. No luck. Is there a wiring schematic somewhere other than the Wilba.pdf thats in the shape of the CS?

Nope. All those LED's are working. LED's on GP11/12 are broken (along with the buttons).

So it wouldn't be a change of season without Mongrol breaking something. I got sick of the Orange case and its sneaky ways of making me always write circus music and I replaced my SEQv4 into a black case. On the way I've broken all the buttons on M3. What's the traditional way of troubleshooting a matrix channel?
(I'm specifically asking instead of working it out myself to get it recording on the forum for others.)
- So far I've identified the buttons not working.
- Looking in the MBSEQ_HW.v4 file I can see the following
# SR Pin BUTTON_STOP M3 5 BUTTON_REW M3 4 BUTTON_PAR_LAYER_C M3 6 BUTTON_GP11 M3 0 BUTTON_GP12 M3 1 BUTTON_TRACK_SEL M3 3 BUTTON_UTILITY M3 2Which are exactly my broken buttons.

Ok, please use the mongbox-nopower-scale-corrected.svg . This is more a more accurate fix from Ponoko than my -test file. Unfortunately it doesn't include the power cutouts, but they are easy to add anyway.

Ponoko also sent me a fixed file. I'll compare it to test and upload the best one later on.

So it turns out my SVG files are barfed if you open them in Inkscape. This is due to Illustrator missing some scaling information that Inkscape needs when it saves it out. I've uploaded a fixed version with "test" in the name that should open properly in Inkscape.
Disclaimer: The $150 laser costs are at your own risk. I haven't had anything cut with the "test" file.

Yep. I think in reality my power problem was so marginal it could've went either way. Originally my Raystars and Midas screens were working fine on 5v power and without any jumper switching until my mishap. It was only when I started fiddling around doing the repair that it all went wrong.

After all my drama I now power my SEQ from a 9v variable PSU (which also powers 4 other devices) through one of these.
UBEC DC/DC Step-Down (Buck) Converter - 5V @ 3A output
I'm using Vishay oled's though which didn't seem to have the same power tolerance issues as my previous Raystars and Midas oleds.

I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything about it in the manual or forum. Does Live Recording mode record CC parameter changes? I think this is called p-locks on Electron boxes. My Volca Keys does it as well. I presume if it does it would need a matching CC layer setup.
My other question is, can it handle 2 MIDI-IN's? As in, my keyboard sends note data, and a "yet to be determined" knob controller sends CC's.

I had similar (see link below) and it was caused by one of the IC's blown. To troubleshoot I swapped some of them around and I do remember one time a random collection of LED's came on.

Yeah I know what they do. I'm wondering why they aren't treated the same from the UI point of view. You could remove the Trg and Prm layer buttons and have just a "layer button". Since you can't have more than 16 layers then they'll fit in the selection buttons. You could have trgs on the left 8 buttons and prm's on teh right. Or use duo LED's and have trg's one colour and prm's the other.

Great stuff. I really like the "orthagonal" way of selecting tracks. Goes one more step towards removing the "group" of 4 that just fries my head so much.
Why are TrgL and PrmL's treated separately. Surely they are all just layers and no matter how you carve it up, you can only have so many of them.

On the coding aspect, what's the license for the SEQv4 code? and does TK accept patches? I never seem to see people submitting any.

@SmithyI have a MidiREX. Happy to answer any questions on it. Or state your looper desires and I'll tell you how well it fits (or doesn't). It's a pretty basic box overall though and maybe only slightly more capable than Hawkeye's LoopA.
On your comment on the Midibox. I don't use it as a generic looper all the time. I use it for song composition as well so there's some design tension there between two quite different workflows.

Good job on the modelling. Jog wheel off to one side would be my pick. The gap in the middle could possible be reduced more? The pics do make it look very busy hardware wise, which adds to cost, which brings silicon pads back into my head to simplify the whole shebang. (sorry)

Does anyone else find the F3 button seems to randomly switch back to step mode? I set the recording to Live, do some stuff then at some indeterminate time in teh future the recording mode has changed back to Step meaning I need to go back into Jam and set it back to Live. Bug or userClueError?
