Wrong pot picture (Im not a star on the ascii) - + | | | Christoffer

Hi there! Just finished my m64, But its not working :( When I turn the first pot the display shows for example: 1- 1 flash 2 flash 3 and so on...seems like its sends some Midi events even if I dont turn anything.....(the midi led constant lights).... After a while the led go out.. And some pots doesnt reply at all. Seems like the pot who does work works for the one who doesnt. It is bad soldering???? To long cables... Correct me if I wrong: When 1 pot is wrong then you got the jittering??? And the strange behavior The pot is something like this: - + | | | And the middle one to the ainx #1 to #64 Star like connection (the - and the +) Question 2: I only use one J7 of the AINX4 to all the pots is that wrong?? Should I leave the second J7? I have 4.7V between + and the - on all Did anyone understand this??? I wouldnt :) Peace Christoffer

How do I know which led light up when I push an button?? In the DINX4 the J3 is for the menu, right? The J4 is Function F1-F4.??? Then you have the #1 to #20 (on the DINX4) is that 1:1 to the LED #1 to #32 ?????(DOUTX4). Peace Christoffer

Hi there! Next questions..... :-[ about the doutx4 Am I right when i think I am connecting the leds short leg to the ground (-) Vd, and the long leg (+) to D7,D6,D5..........and so on? If I want an power led to the SID and the midibox 64 Can I connect it to the J2 with an 220 resistor?? Bye for now. Christoffer

Stupid question again!! :-/ Can I leave out the 4 caps (100nF) if I dont want the IC1 (MAX232)and the com port?. I think I can... Just want the extra MIDI and the led.. Christoffer

MY SID IS WORKING!!!!! ;D It was the ic socket that have no connection to the Sid chip only on the 9V and the 5V :-/ Think I was meen to it when i checked it... Thanks Love this!!! ;D Christoffer

Just finished the sid module..... And I got no sound (With logic enviroment). :( How should I check if the CORE moudule ? Or if the 8580 chip works ??? :-/ >:( I check If I get 9V and 5V and that seems to work... Hope someone can help me... Christoffer

Hi again! Just done with the jdm..working!!! Next problem i turned into was on the sid layout I replaced the C1 and the C2 with the 6.8nF becuse Im with the 8580 :) And then Im looking at the C4 theres the 470pF!!! I didn´t buy those becuse in the partlist i said only 2. 470pF (that I just replace arrrrggg!!!!). ??? Stupid question:Can I replace it with the 6.8nF??? Or must I go to Elfa tomorrow to??? I don´t wont that........ :( Thought I could SID tonight..... By for now.. Christoffer

Hi there! Just bought an lcd. And when i took a look at the lcd page I cant figure out whats what! When I printed the picture I cant read the letters (Vss Vdd ....and so on). So if any one can tell me the pin config... I dont want too burn it!!! :-/ And on my display i got 14 pins on the left side and on the right side I got something that called A and C think A is Vled + and C is Vledg - Right? Just got the pcb from Mike! Just a question again about the order list: In the Sid module you got an Polarised Capacitor 2200 uF/25V(!). But in the sid_V2.brd it said 1000uF/35V If I got the 2200uF/16V is that enough? (I got the 8580 SID 9V) Thanks! Christoffer

Hello! Since im new to electronic parts I have a few questions: In the MBHP Core partlist you use an Rectifier B80C800RUND My question can I use B80c1500 (1,5A) instead? And the Polarised capacitor 10 uF/16V does it matter if I use an 10 uF/25V or higher?? And I must tell, Today I got The C64 with the 8580 sid chip :-) for free :-) Just paid for the mail..... Thanks!
