  1. I am really not sure about how the LEDs are set up compared to the new chip, but I believe it will be possible. It should be just a matter of latching the Digital output for every momentary push. I hardly believe that the MBHP is unable to do so, but if so it should be fairly easy to make a latch circuit to do what you want. No Fears, DIY is always a possibility. -Sephult ;)
  2. Carillon does have some nice things. Thanks for the link. I am in the process of building an audio workstation, with some major modular controllers. If you need help or ideas I can send you some of mine, or help you figure out what you want to do. -Sephult Email: Sephult@hotmail.com

  4. The midibox plus 16 uses Pins 33-36 like Steven said. The 4 pins are for the binary equivalent of the bank. ex. off-off-off-on would be bank one.... off-off-on-off would be bank two.... off-off-on-on would be bank three.... You get it? -Sephult

I myself would like to apologize Dazzy. I'd like to apologize to Thorsten too. I had not read the 2nd forum page, and I didn't want to overstep bounds. I understand saving money, the how hard it is to get parts. I do, however, back up the idea of Thorsten's MBHP and DIY freedom. Although you might be able to purchase a cheaper midi controller, the ability to upgrade the MBHP in my knowledge is far more important than the price of the controller. And honestly, my Midibox could smash the hell out of any commercial gear I own!!! -Good luck

Hey OpiumX- Numeric LED is a good idea, Although I have not yet tried the idea. I am guessing if you could keep from loading the AINX inputs you might be able to convert the 5V into 127 steps using a 3 digit for a readout. Well who knows, keep me informed of your ideas. DAZZY- A lot of hard work is put into these MBHP DIY projects. Although you might be able to get a midi controller for cheaper, I promise you I could drop my MBHP 2 feet above your cheap controller and smash the living hell out of it!!!!! No manufacturer can beat the durability that DIY can offer. I'd like to also comment on Thorsten's reply- End of Discussion- MBHP LIVES FOREVER!!!!!!! -Sephult ;)

MBHP ROCKS! I would spend extra just to make it my own design. Although it is nice to save money, one thing that sets uCapps MBHP over the rest is it's possibilities for future upgrades. The layovers are nice, could be useful for remembering bank layouts. Make one for Reason, one for Tracktor, etc.... How about LCD's for every knob and slider !!! HA ;D -Sephult

  14. Hello- I myself would have responded, though I am not yet ready to enter the world of mackie control emulation. I could probably help you come to an answer if you need one, but I have failed so far. Ok I replied, so you have any questions? -Sephult ;)

  16. I'd like to say that I agree with Thorsten and all who have been supplying PCB boards. I have had a couple printed in the past and have been willing to spend $ a board. Although this might make my costs go up, I know for a fact that my boards are top quality, and whatever I can do to continually support DIY, I will do it. I wanted to know who was doing US orders for PCB and what the costs are? If anyone could help me, I would gladly direct some webspace information, and direct some customers through my schooling at ITT. Thanks everyone- I hope all issues are resolved- Best regards -Sephult

  18. Thanks for the INFO guys!!!!!!! -Mr. Sephult 8)
  19. I am trying to find out what LCD screens the MIOS can handle. Has anyone tried any GLCDs?
  20. Thorsten- Do you think that USB communication could ever be used for other storage dumps such as bank information to a PC? I know a sysex dump would be the same, but do you think it will ever be possible to store a single file of bank information and retrieve it in a drag and drop manner? Awesome job with the USB, I can't wait to check it out! -Sephult ;)
  21. Does anyone use any MOTU midi gear? I have had problems with USB drivers, and other sysex problems. I was wondering if anyone had succesfully done sysex transfers through the XT or any of the others. I have had OS load problems with the 505 and 8080, and I am wondering if I can run my setup without errors on the new drivers? The error I always get is an ntkern.dll code 2, failure. If anyone has any information regarding the new drivers, or has had the same problems I would be very appreciative. -Sin Sephult
  22. All you would need to do is use the register and demux chips you wanted and tie off the ones not used. That would be the easiest way to use the new platform for a MB-16 project. Good luck -Sephult
  23. Thanks Thorsten! I can't stop thinking about ucapps! Can't wait to have a look at the source. What language? It will probably be awhile before I can make the MIDI beast, what do you have planned for the near future? Is this a day to day DIY, or are you a mastermind? Best Regards -Mr Sephult ;D
  24. Awesome Thorsten! Does the manual trigger work like an RPS on a 505? What is expected for the 18F Version of the sequencer? Can't wait to try it out. -Sephult ;D
  25. I had read an earlier post about creating an X0X style drum machine. In my opinion I think this would be totally possible. I was thinking such as how the 505 works. There could be 16 steps of LEDs using the basic Midi Box Seq layout. IF Thorsten might implement the possibilities of lighting LEDs on the clock related to the BPM, the MIDI BOX sequencer should be able to handle the rest. Maybe a future implementation? Got to love MIDI DIY!!!!! :) -Sephult
