Sarcasm maybe. Moebius is the sarcasm king :D -
Heya, about the delay chips, I'll be placing an order tonight/tomorrow morning, and I'll let everyone know the details in the thread... there won't be any pressure to buy them if the price doesn't suit, I'll just use them myself :) Sorry for the delays, work got a bit hectic, I've been working day and night, no time for recreational stuff like MIDIBoxing or, you know, eating and breathing ;) .. Should be back in action over the weekend ... TGIF ;D

Not to mention the filters etc... Your standard 4 cylinder small car engine and the engine from a cessna 172 aren't too different but the overall effect is not quite the same ;)

Yeh Twin, Smash and Mike for making life easy for us all. But the chick from your avatar is surpassed only by TK ;)

Well at under 10 bucks a unit thats pretty reasonable... I was just looking at the sticky-backed clear silicone rubber feet that came with my hifi speakers, thinking "Wonder if I could get more of those" ;)

I like "we". No need to segregate based on post count :) -
High quality 3 axis trackball assemblys with TTL output on ebay
stryd_one replied to Rowan's topic in Parts Archive
I was thinking about using the trackball to position the cursor on screen and the housing to set the value :) Or XYZ modulation, think Cutoff/Resonance/Detune or Cutiff/Res/PWM... MMM...nasty chompy noises... Or an X-Y modulator with mod depth in the housing wheel.... The mind boggles. Wish the quote would come! -
Interesting.... Needs external filters of course.... And amplitude control perhaps... I need more data. Additive Synth? Sampler? Wavetable thing? Geez I don't even know if it's DIP or SMD yet, but I'm guessing not SMD given it's age...

Totally agree. That might be why so many newbies don't bother reading things.. It's also probably why relative veterans can often miss info too... It's kind of a rite of passage around here though. Everyone knows that there is plenty of doco, but it's spread out like crazy. We're all forced to go to great lengths to develop a clear understanding of midiboxing, before we can start out... Some like it, some don't, some, like me, think it has its upsides and downsides... I'll just do whatever TK or TwinX says, cause it's their project/server in the end :) "Just following orders, Sir" ;) -
Hi, welcome :) Maybe you could tell us more about that chip, what it can do, what you would like to do with it?
-
I hope you were singing that ;)

Is that opaque plastic on there? They look like they could be illuminated....

Search the forum, there are other suppliers. -
Welcome to the list! :) That's dead similar to mine! :D Only reason I haven't published anything yet is that I didn't have a way to display it, I like that ASCII style annotation :) I have lots of comments so I might sketch up something similar and post back tomorrow night, thanks for the input man!

Thanks AC I think you mean the MIOS_DEBUG stuff, I did read up on those functions before, but I misunderstood Moebius ... I guess that my current app development workflow would be : Write code in C Wrap it in C-Debug Debug it there Compile for PIC and up it to MIOS on the core Use MIOS_DEBUG functions and TK's tricks of the trade Enjoy Yeh, should be a walk in the park ;D heeheheh SPICE for circuit sim And GIMP for facepanels All free too. You guys rock, THANKS!

Yeh those chips are in heaps of stuff. I'm definitely getting a bunch of those and some PT2399's. Let me know if you need datasheets or whatever. That kit sure does look mod-able... Cheap as chips too! There were a couple of compressors and delays and some other random bits, what I'm going to do is tomorrow night I will go through all of the supplier's available parts, and if I can find appropriate schematics that use them, then I'll shortlist them, compare the competitors (not much point making sub-par FX when we can make something better for a comparable cost and effort) and then make an order list and post it here. That way if you guys want in you can let me know, I'll order, and send them your way.

Hi Marcel, I think the thing you're missing is that there is no prgram change up and program change down midi command... There's only Program change #, where # is the number of the program you want to change to. This means that sending program change is not just a matter of an up button that sends an up command and a down button that sends a down command - you have to have a variable in the application that saves the program number. The up and down buttons then change that number, and then send the number in a program change command. Hope this helps!

I agree with both sides of this story... The doco you need can be hard to find. It can also be beneficial to spend time reading as you journey towards gathering the info you need. IMO the point of all of this is that doco doesn't write itself. If you find yourself saying "Geez, I wish that info were more easy to come by", then maybe it's time to pitch in and write some doco yourself? I don't think there's any need for noisey message topics though. That might make them easier to find, but it could also serve to annoy :\ What would be better if your aim is to be easily located is to make your own instructions on the wiki. You can chat about it on the forum, and then compile your learnings into a wiki page, or even just add links to your forum threads into the wiki under your user gallery page.

Nah don't do it man. I figured it was so you could get more room to breathe. it's YOUR CS, not mine - Do it YOUR way :) That's the beauty of a MIDIBox :)

You can juggle with Traktor? ;)

Pray that they don't use the profits of their misadventures to fund a holiday to Australia, and mysteriously disappear somewhere in the outback....

Thanks for all that, guys!

Thanks TwinX :) That simulator looks pretty badass! I was actually after something for analog only type stuff but hey, that'd do the job, and then some! ... She's mightily pricey though... Might stick with MS Excel and my brain for a little while ;) That frontpanel thingy looks a lot like Schaeffer, but... What I'm after is more like something for the buttons knobs and sliders, then I can figure out where the holes go afterwards... It's more to get an idea of what the UI would look like, than to make a template for drilling/CNC. Sounds like photoshop or GIMP or something might be the go? No need to post all your links man :) I was really after just what you gave me - your personal and professional opinion :)
