  1. Hi, WHere can i get more infomation for editing the mios_tables.inc file? With trial and error i only concluded that MT_ENTRY 0x90, 0x00 - is a note & MT_ENTRY 0xb0, 0x00 - is a controller. Is there some where that lists out what the rest like 0x00,0x01... are used to patch to? Cheers. :)
  2. Thanks, Okie, I'm using the Pic 18F452. Regarding the App to use, the MIDI128 shows 128 digital in and out. But i doesn't show analoge input. So does it mean its just not shown but possible? BTW, i selected the option to be notified by email if there are replies, but somehow i don't get any e-mails. Cheers.
  3. To make it clearer, here's a layout of the module I'm planning to build. Is this possible and which app should i make use of? Cheers :)
  4. Can i add AINs to the Midi128? I would like my setup to have 90+bts and About 32 AINs. Can i do this on one core? Also which application should i load to the MIDIOS? Cheers
  5. OKie cool.. Now i'm getting the hang of it. 0x00a000 a is the fourth last digit. Cheers.
  6. So can I say if i want to use the to-com interface the third last digit from the right will have to be 1? The last digit is for IDing the Core? So if my second core module is using the to-com it should be like this? 0000000000000102 ? Cheers
  7. Yes I've read the page but i don't quite understand. I don't get what am i suppose to replace and replace with what and where do i do it. Pardon my ignorance, as i am a design student and know nuts about programming and electronics. Cheers

Oh okie, Apologies for not stating clearly, I was actually think of the connection to the MB Core, midibox64? Not refering to the SID. Cheers
  9. Just checking is this the process of burning the bootstrap loader? Also if i want to use the LTC module it should be 0000000000000142 ? If there is a second core module, what should it be? Cheers

JUst checking so the Pots are connected to the AIN module and the encoders to DIN? Cheers
  11. Hi, On the parts list for the core module, it only says rectifier with its part no, B80C800RUND. WHen i go to my local store to get it, they asked what sort of rectifier i'mm looking for and asked for more details like voltage n stuff. They don't recognise the B80c800RUND. Anyway for now i just got one they recommended. Just checking, it has 4 legs? On it, it has a + and - printed diagonally across. Also printed is "W005M 8812". What does that mean? Also they didn't have the 330nF ceramic cap. They got me some other sort which is blue in color. Is that ok? Cheers :)
  12. Oh thanks. WHat problems you had with the LTC that made you go over to the midi? Basically i'm trying out a midibox not for musical stuff, more for physical intreactive installations. Cheers
  13. Sorry, but i don't really understand what is stated in the LTC module section. Just wanna clarify some questions i have. 1. is the LTC kinda of serial adapter for the midibox? (cause i don't have a midi connection, am wondering is it worth the while building one or am better off getting a midi interface for my com) 2. If i do use the LTC and connect it the core module, can i use it to program the PIC via serial? 3. Are there anything i should be aware of if i use the LTC instead of the Midi or any other changes to the core module besides unstuffing the optocoupler? Thanks for the help :) CHeers
  14. Thanks Smash. So do i still need to connect the JDM to the Core to program the rest? BTW I finnaly managed to get my JDM working!! YEah... after fustrating 3 mths, i was just so tempted to get a PCB from you. Sorry bout that. Though the voltage across VSS and MCLR was only 12.6V+- Cheers! Can't wait to start on the Core module. Thanks for the help
  15. Hi, I tried to test my JDM on a breadboard based on schematic from http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_jdm_v2_sm.gif. I didn't use the layout image cause its to complex for me as i'm not a electronics person. Do design for a living you see. When testing the voltages with the PIC in, everything is ok except the MCLR ones. It was reading 8.0+V. So i tried the external power suply with a 20V PSU. It then read 10.5V +. I wasn't able to reach the 13.7V . Is there a reason? Am really fustrated that it can't start to work. Another thing is all i have to programm in is the Boot straploader? Am i correct to say that the rest is loaded when i connect the Core module with the pic in? Or do i have to connect the JDM to the Core module with the PIC in the Core? If so, how do i do so cause base on the schematic, there isn't a way stated to connect to the Core. Any help is really really appreciated. Cheers
  16. I'm running on a pc but would like to have the flexibility of both machines. As of now, the pc, what do you mean by using activex? How do i go about doing it? Cheers
  17. Hi, Anyone used a midibox with macromedia director before? Is there a way around the expensive xtras for director? Or you know of some free xtras that can get director to get midi inputs? Cheers
  18. Oh, ok, now i know.. that might be why my jdm still ain't working.... cheers..
  19. Sorry, I'm trying to build the JDM, i got two zener diodes of 8.1v and 5.7v, but on them its only printed with 4733 and 4738.. which is which? Cheers
  20. okie.. cool.. so technically you can get up to 6 free sample chips from microchip that you can use for the midi box...
  21. ??? Need some help. Also under the model has these no, 03521UM on the 18F452 and 035054K on the 18LF452... Cheers
  22. That's great, damn just placed my $15 SG on a 16F.... there are quite a few diff 18Fs, which one do i go for? 452 -?? Edited - Just checked, is it the PIC18F452-I/P 40 PDIP 600mil  ? Edited - Whao! Just placed my orders, can't wait for it to come. Shall start to build the JDM, Core, AIN and DIN modules. Am from Singapore, Asia, how long does it take to deliver usually? Oh before i start i can't seem to figure this out. I have a sound card with midi, but its through the joystick port,25pins, how do i connect to that? Also can i just plug it in and programm the PIC or i still need the JDM? Cheers You guys are great! :)
  23. Ah, I was suspecting so.. Am new to electronics.
  24. Has it been done before? A midi out that sent analoge output signals or control a servo motor? Cheers
