Just an update... Here are some i got for myself. Cheers :)

Yeah that's what you do. You can actually connect on/off buttons to the AIN module also but requires bit more work, but if you don't have to do a DIN board. You have to ground the pins on J1-J4 that are not used if not you get random events..... In my opinion, the hardest part was to programm the pic cause my JDM was always faulty. But once done it pretty simple. To make things even better, order a premade board and all you have to do is solder.

Thanks for the help. :)

Hi TK, Thanks for your tip. So do i hook it up like that? Don't get what you mean by 1K pull down and where to put it. Is this right? Cheers

Hi, Am trying to build a controller for this vj software. Problem is I require 136 digital input buttons and only 8 analog ones. Is there anyway to make use of the analog inputs to act as digital ones? Cause don't think i want to build another core for another 8 buttons. Cheers

Hi, Just wondering how you cut out the square holes for your panel and what material you using? Great box btw... Cheers

Have a look at www.ucapps.de. You'll be needing to get the PIC micro controller and program it via a JDM or similar. Next will be doing up the MBHP Core module which is the main thing that you plug your PIC in. After which you will need to build the DIN and AIN and DIO modules depending on your needs. Max of 128 digital and 64 for analog. Once you got all these modules done and hook up, you can connect the bts/pots/faders and stuff.. This is a real rough outline. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Yeah a section like that will be helpful. Actually i'm looking more towards help with physical cutting up the panels. Like tools used and methods. Ppl experiences and stuff.. I got a drill but dunno what bit to use. damn...
-
Yeah that would be great. Also help in making the physical panel will be good. Anyone has experience in cutting small square holes for 14mm buttons in 20 guage steel?

arumblack, What do you mean by not being able to do a good one? What are the problems you face? Just wondering is it possible to do something like this on a panel with the dremel? The black areas are to cut out. Black boxes-14mmx14mm Space inbetween 4mm. Cheers :)

I think you suppose to print it on a transparency... The glossy paper is for another method in which you tranfer the carbon to a normal copper board..

I read few sites, that they use the dremel to mod their com's casing. Just wondering you have any experience with that? Cause i just can't find anyone locally to cut my panels also to drill my pcbs. So seems like the dremel might be a good alternative. Also can you use it to cut the PCBs down to size? regards :)

The illuminated ones uses surfance mount chip leds. Just wondering are the really small and difficult to solder down? Cause the radioshacks i've been to around my place, the only ones they have are like 2mm by 1mm. Cheers

Just wondering if you are going to drill the holes with a hand drill or a bench drill? Cause i also wanna do my own boards, but having issues with the drilling. Heard its a killer with hand drills as the bits are just to tiny and breaks easily.. Cheers

Yeah i admit too thatthe JDM is hell to build.. Worst thing is you don't know if its not done up properly or due to software issues like port settings and stuff.. I had to build 3 sets till my forth started to work.. Happy building. I think there's someone in the uk that has a midibox... He also provides real cheap CNC services for doing up your panels. Check out the gallery. His midibox is in this real nice tilted case with oak wood sides. Cheers

You can have a look at my post. http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=parts_archive;action=display;num=1083178539;start=0 US$0.59 for standard illuminated ones. If you customise its $1.57. The standard ones comes with a transparent cover which you can print your own lables and place it underneath... Cheers

Hi, Was searching for nice cheap bts, and came across these. Not sure if the work fine for the DINs as i'm new to electronics. Someone mind having a look at the specs and let me know? Link to their site with a pdf spec. http://www.shanpu.com.tw/02_products/edmview.php?hID=3 Their service is great though i have yet to order anything. Replies any queries in a day. Ship to anywhere. Here's what they quoted me. 1&2 , 3&4 are the same except their contacts are gold or silver, just wondering is there a diff in cost. Which is a better choice? Do i still have to do that after i do the MT_EOT in the mios-table.ini file?
-
Thanks for the list. I've getting some problems. I connected 8 pots to a AIN4X. I'm using the MIOS AIN64 DIN128 DIO128 app. In the mios_table, i put "MT_EOT" for the pots section. THen for the first eight i placed :MT_ENTRY 0xb0, 0x10-18. The problem is, when i open one of 2 certain pots, i get lots of random data. When all closed, i can only work 4 pots. But each of this pot sends 2 sets of sysex eg B0-14 and B0-15 or B0-13 and B0-17 for another pot. What's went wrong?
