  1. hi,

I'm abou to order my SID frontpanel from Schaeffer...

to make it rack compatible, I'd like to put all the jacks on the frontpanel.

so i just wanted to aks if  I've forgotten something before ordering ;)

    1 x MIDI In

    1 x MIDI Out

    4 x Audio In

    4 x Audio Out

    4 x SUB D / Bankstick

    so long,

  2. hurray!!!!

It's working! (and it was working all the time *dough*)

it's scary! slowly my soldering skills are better than my intelectual abilities ;)

normaly I know what my module should do, but it has a short on the PCB when it doesn't work, hehe

oh it's so much fun having a sequencer, i can't stop smiling and dance through the room to my funky sequencer lines =D

I think i gonna write something about the AOUT in the WIKI...

    thanks TK!!!

  3. exactly...

i modularized the simplesizer nearly complete :)

its not a moog 24db filter (already got this one in the simplesizer) it's a Ray wilson filter from music from outer space (love this one!)

actualy I'm working on a web site showing my DIY projects... will soon be online.

  4. i measured the voltage at the Jumpers (between the MAX and the LM324)  from the non working CV's

it's 2,06 V all the Time (for the CV's 2,4,6,8) even when the CV isn't selected by any chanel.

further i'd like to know where i have to connect the gate 3 and 4 mentioned in the routing scheme... i thought so far only 2 gates where available?

    thanks for the help,

    julian

  5. yes!

the midi channel -> aout routing...

definitely something I didn't regarded. That explains why CV2 is controlled by channel 3 ;)

but if I get it right this time *G* my AOUT still isn't working as it should.

I'm using the SEQ_v2 application exactly like yours ;)

Chanel 1-8 are working great for CV 1,3,5,7

but the CV's 2,4,6,8 just give short "trigger like" signals, not affekted by the value of the step.

the same happens for the chanels 9-16. The right CV is responding, but also just gives a short trigger pulse not regarding the set value. here all CV's are affected by the problem.

I'll measure the voltages on the jumpers (AOUT) soon and post my results.

further is the pitch of the working CV's affected by the LED's. When I light some LED's the pitch of the CV goes down :(

PSU problem I think  (Aout and Core use the same PSU)

  6. after finishing my aout yesterday evening,  i found  an error today :(

    the 2 gates work fine.

    CV1 also.

but CV2 is controlled by Chanel 3

the other CV's just make what they want . alot of channels affect each other, but in no reasonable way :(

    i checked so far:

connection between core and AOUT  - OK

connection to the jacks                        - OK

also measured the test points on the aout  - OK

solder side of the AOUT module    - OK

meanwhile i also resoldered every connection between the core and the AOUT...  could it be some kind of software problem? do i have to activate the AOUT somewhere in the code to obtain a propper working CV?

hmmm, think I'm going to study the datasheets of the IC's from the AOUT module... maybe that helps...

any ideas where should i look for the error??

  7. since i just finished the seq some hours ago, i spent the evening controlling my  modular synth i'm actualy building...

here is a pic (I know, i need to make some frontpanel printings and I need cheap knobs ;)

about the encoders: no problem, i'll add the info soon ^^

  8. hello,

another little problem appeared in my seq project.

the MIDI in and Out ports are working fine. but when i connect the LTC module to the core. my MIDI In port stops working.

The 1st and 2nd midi out s are working fine, the Tx/Rx LED's from the LTC act  normal...

    what could this be?

the oprocouppler ion the LTC is not stuffed.

  9. yes, i received mine today :)

one good thing i can say about him: he shipped 38 encoders to me, i just ordered 20 :)

the only thing I didn't liked was that it was obvious he has delivery problems, but he was telling he has them in stock and in 5-7 days i should have them. i wouldn't be angry if he just had told me (like reichelt does it all the time) that he hasn't got em in stock and will send them in 3 weeks or so...

  10. hello,

just wanted to say my Seq is nearly finished...

soon you'll see some ice pics! =D

i'm just waiting for my encoders from voti to arrive.

extremely slow this guy... he's telling me for a month now:" i've got the encoders in stock and will sen them to you the next days"  :-P

really hard to sit next to a  finished sequencer without encoders...  :(

next time I think I'll order from smash ;)

  11. i've got a question as well...

as FM synthesis doesn't include filters i thought about adding an gate out to the MBFM.

Wouldn't it be possible to make one (or 4) pins on the dout module to send a signal whenever a voice plays a note?

then you could use a simple circuit to make a standard gate signal out of it to control external ADSRs thus giving you the power of FM synthesis combined with smooth analog filters without the need for an expensive AOUt module...

    best,

    julian
