  1. as TK stated before, you should either use the C64 PSU or 2 seperate wallwart PSU's

    question @ all:

wouldn't it be possible to put the 7805 behing the 7812 of the sid module? in this way the 7812 would get the 15v from the wallwart and the 7805 could run from the 12V?

i wanted to use this setup for my SEQ as well ;)

  2. NO.

a pull up resistor is something different.

the input pins of the IC have to be in a defined state.

So they are on a logical high, when the button is pressed ) and a logical Low when no button is pressed.

The pull up resistor is needed to give the Pin of the IC a defined state, when no button is pressed.

Whith the pin hanging in the air, you don't know (and either the IC) if the logical state of the pin is High or Low...

    am i right?

  3. hehe, and i was wondering all the time how this module should manage to create +/- 12v  out of +5V ;)

what confused me where the arrows pointing away from the IC...  same sign as used for the CV outputs...

so i need an additional board stuffed with a 7812 and a 7912 etc to supply the aout module...

    thanks.

    so long,

  4. hello everyone!

my SEQ V2 is nearly finished...

just waiting for my displays + encoders :-p

(I'll never ever make a metall front panel from these dimensions again by hand! what a pain in the a** ;) )

But there remain some questions i've got.

1.) i read that it's possible to connect multiple bank sticks...

is the SEQ capable of handling multiple bank sticks?

cause when i connect my second bank stick, nothing happens. But when i connect the 1st, a formating procedure is started and the display says loading from bank stick.

2.) what are the jumpers on the AOUT module for?

    3.) AOUT again -  IC3 and IC4 are marked with +12V and -12V outputs (pin 4 / 11)

what are these? should there be always +/- 12V? cause when i measure the voltage on my aout module it's just

0.1 and -0.1V when i turn the seq on...

so long and happy soldering y'all,

    julian

  5. hallo mal wieder...

  7. >- Are the connections from the core to midi rather short?

hehe, at the moment a rather long cable

    >- Did you connect ground from the core to your midi-port (disconnect >this!) ?

    >- Do you use a shielded cable from Core to Midi-plugs ?

    nope

    >- Do you have multiple Cores interconnected ? -

    no, just one so far

    >Did you connect the audio out of your SID to the PC audio In ? - If >so: Just try this connection without the shield of your SID Audio Out. >Still noisy ?

the midi signals come from my PC

the audio outs from the SID are connected with a small Mixer and another computers audio in. so there should be no interferences...

I think i'll just try to remove the ground... I'll post if it helps

    greetings,

  8. hi =)

my MIDISid is working fine so far, but the midi out isn't working.

whenever i plu both midi cables (in and out from my computer) there is a strange noise on the audio out. sounds like some kind of midi data because when i start the "get" function in jsynthlib (start a sysex dump) i hear rapid changings in the noise but the dump isns working :(

and this high noise appearing when i plug the midi out to my computer is really loud/annoying, too.

    best,

    julian
