  1. how much did you pay for 200 knobs?
  2. yeah U=R*I - ohm's law. but what you're describing about "floating"... i think the capacitors are better at eliminating that.
  3. WOW!!! that's awesome!!! any idea what store sells them?
  4. well the thing I dont understand is how a resistor can LIMIT current. (pull-down if i understood that correctly)
  5. where can you buy midiglove for 20 euros?
  6. hmmm anyone knows if soft-touch knobs WITHOUT a mark even exist? doesn't look very good so far...
  7. well... to be honest - i dont understand 99% of how any of these work. electronically-wise. but it's so well-documented that it's really easy to build so i'm getting somewhere already. but i'm that type of person that's used to searching for general topics info on the net and i guess that helps me quite a bit. and i've learned many things about electronic circuits so far (starting from ZERO) so - all's good and we'll all build midiboxes and have fun during the process. AND when they're finished ;)
  8. http://www.google.com/search?q=pull-up+resistor
  9. it's no trouble, sorry i didn't have the time yesterday. will do it tonight.
  10. i can post a picture of my broccoli when i get home. what capacitor are you using?
  11. also these from Grayhill http://embrace.grayhill.com/embrace/Catalog/ASP/CatalogGroups.asp?CatalogGroupID=Knobs&GroupDisplayLabel=Knobs
  12. more from OKW A3116069 + A3216007 + A7516000 + + = also (from http://www.okw.co.uk/products/okw/comb-knobs.htm): A2513068 together with A4113002 and A7513008 would make a beautiful combo! could also be black/red/any color!
  13. ;D i'm starting this thread cause i'm finding it very painfull to find. what i was looking for were either soft-touch (rubber-finish) knobs or shiny aluminium knobs. BUT! both without indicator! desired diameter somewhere between 10 and 15mm so - what i found so far: mentor knobs (reichelt carries them - not sure if all of them though) 511.61 http://www.mentor-bauelemente.de/db/k/510.41.html 538.62 http://www.mentor-bauelemente.de/db/k/538.62.html (hmm it look like this one is "security knob" - it has to be pushed down first) 5571.6100 http://www.mentor-bauelemente.de/db/k/5571.6100.html 505.61 http://www.mentor-bauelemente.de/db/k/504.41.html 332.6 http://www.mentor-bauelemente.de/db/k/332.4.html 531.603 http://www.mentor-bauelemente.de/db/k/531.3.html 5571.6006 http://www.mentor-bauelemente.de/db/k/5571.6006.html all of the above knobs are available in "no indicator" 6mm shaft variant. bring on some more! :P
  14. i got the package today. i got a 3x membrane switch (meh), 1 linear sensor and 6 (yay!!!) flex sensors. anyone got the flex sensors to work directly with AIN?
  15. yes... or is it 3? i'm not sure. the upper-right pins. so the voltages were okay?
  16. you're using high-voltage mode right?
  17. take care and have fun!
  18. common ground?
  19. Wisefire where did you order the knobs and what do they look like? i'm searching for the perfect knobs myself and i'd like them to be rubber-coated and withouth the mark...
  20. did you run the diag thingy and check the voltages pin-by-pin?
  21. let's continue this in the broccoli thread shall we? i can give you some advice there.
  22. have you read the thread about the broccoli18? i got everything i needed to get it working there,
  23. hello! i just found this: http://www.prophet64.com/sounds.php check out the samples, especially http://www.prophet64.com/sounds/random1.mp3 and http://www.prophet64.com/sounds/random2.mp3 this is done with just a c64 (a native application called prophet64 - http://www.prophet64.com - that means the original filter if i understand correctly! if they can do this... i'm sure we can do it too? CAUSE THAT WOULD BE JUST TOO COOL!!!
  24. i've never soldered a joint in my life before and i have just the high-school basic knowledge of electronics but i managed to successfully build 2 cores and 2 sid modules that work. i'd say it's really easy just precisely following the instructions. also - internet is your friend. any question regarding general electronics you'll have you can first try google (like - color codings for resistors, capacity codes for caps, soldering how-tos, ...) just do EXACTLY as it says on ucapps. i'm really careful&precise doing anything and i haven't had any problems. and there's this forum where kind people always answer all the questions to the people that show good will and self-initiative first.
