well that s what i wanted i want to go round with the disk and the controller not my personal turntable why should i need a double ring? i am not going to detect the backward spinning thanks for the infos about MIDI CLOCKing it s more clear now to me, a buttons sending FA is what i need then to sync at the beat.. simone simone

hi stryd please let me know if you re just picky about videos resolution or there is any problem with youtube, i noticed it s out of sync (why?) and the quality is just 640X480 (becasue of my camera) one of the main concern has been the thickness there you can see that it s so thin i had to lift the upper pcb a little bit to fit the MIDI sockets specs 8 backlit buttons 4 encoders with ledrings 4 setups (being the encoders pushbuttons) self supplied by a modified USB/MIDI cable best regards simone

there you go: except for a few details related to the midi sockets and the housing which is still to be built, here you have the boogie box and my crappy guitar that actually sounds quite good, the box has been built to fit a specific guitar not the one you see on the video, in this case i ve attached it with some velcro rock it!

still... is there a specific message saying to the slave that a specific tick is the "beat" one or they are all considered the same by the slave an it will start counting from the first received? it can t be because drum machine will sync to the beat and no to the tick. so far this is the plan: let s take a plastic disc 1 cm bigger in radius than a normal vinyl, let s drill 64 small holes at regular distance among each other all the way round, let s play the turntable at 45 RPM and use a phototransistor with a diode, or any infrared device to read through the holes.Let s connect the phototransistor to a DIN and let the CORE send out the fabulous F8, there you go: control the BPM of a sequencer, vinyl style, BUT no STOP,no START,no scratch,etc, just BPM control.It good enough for me.I have open DINs on my controller with mini jack connection so i will connect it directly to my MB. other considerations.. i want around 120 BPM at pitch 0, 45 RPM, 24 ticks per beat: that makes 64 dots around the disk let s switch to 33 RPM and you get 88 BPM (play some down beat!!) a technincs 1200 has 16% range on pitch shift that makes from 101 to 139 BPM at 45 RPM and from 74 to 92 BPM at 33 RPM not enough? we ll make 2 different plastic disks, each with a different amount of dots to cover the whole range, or a disk with 2 rows of dots and 2 phototransistors and a "range switch", switching between the two no place for a vinyl in your setup? then take a slip mat (??? one of those soft disks you put between the vinyl and the turntable) and place some kind of reflecting material at each dot (tick) (aluminum foil from your last falafel) and use an infrared device (again, or LED-PHOTOTRANSITOR) to detect the movement i would add 3 more buttons and an encoder: a kill button to stop counting, 2 buttons for BPM up/down (cd player style) and an encoder to freak out with 999 BPM on your crazy sessions it sounds sooo easy is it possible do you see anything i am missing? best simone

hey i remember once i ve seen an application that could calculate the time needed by your bath tube to cross the atlantic ocean wiht the only engine provided by an english duck and you tell me isn t there a specific program to draw front plates? hey hey SLP: i had often the same problem and it was all about the printer drivers and/or application printing settings: you have to be sure that in both the settings you choose "actual size" and "borderless" printing, be sure there is no adaptation to the paper size.hope it will help simone

hola alogic estoy un poco perdiendo el hilo de tu ideas... pero entiendo que necesitas ayuda y podriamos pedirla al forum ingles, si me redacta un "pedido" especifico lo puedo traducir y ponerlo en el forum global. hoy estaba en casa de una colega, alli habia un tocadisco, estube mirandolo y pensando en ti (que romantico): todos los tocadiscos mas o meno de gama medio alta tiene un "codigo" echo de sequencias de pequenos espejos, suelen ser 4 lineas: 33 y 45 rpm a 50 y 60 Hz.Ya sabes.Piensas que se podria utilizar el sistema de IR y phototransistor aprovechando del reflejo de los cuadraditos? seria sensillo, estable y muy preciso.ademas con dos sensores se podria simular un encoder y detectar el movimento atras. simone

lucho si estas en europa voti.nl tiene encoders baratos, se cuenta que don voti vaya todos los anos a las islas canarias de vacaciones con los encoders que vende a los midiboxers europeos ;)

lucho googlea para encoder porque veo que no sabes lo que son y te saldra bien informarte, un encoder no tiene ninguna resistencia cuando ya tenga una idea sobre el asunto encoders entonces busca uno que tenga un valor entre 12 y 36 "pulses per round" o algo asi nome acuerdo ahora ya lo entendras no te preocupes, otro factor es el "detended" o "no detended" mejor es el segundo aunque casi todos se pueden modificar para que sean "no detended" simone

hola los encoders tienen 3 pins como los potes, un pin conecta con GND los otros dos con 2 pins de un DIN, asi son las parejas 0,1 2,3 4,5 6,7.Busca el datacheet de los encoders para saber como conectar los pins. simone

alogic... muy logic esto ultimo del vinilo .. me parece lo mas sencillo posible ademas que se podria hacer con un cacho de plastico redondo sin mucho mas ... voy a calcular unas cosas..

a que rpm va un tocadiscos ? te suena algo 33 y 45 ?? oye suena superinteresante todo eso, habria que involucrar toda la comunidad y pasar al ingles de alguna forma, imagina cuantas mas cabezas estarian en ello.. nunca pensaste en montar un pequeno controlador, como una rueda que simplemente se pueda conectar a un tocadisco y detecte el movimiento de un vinilo? simone
