funny you mention Eventide, i ve built a box to control the Eventide Eclipse, they got this nice system with 7 pins MIDI plug where you can forward your wall wart adaptor from an input line in the rack to pin 6 and 7 of the MIDI IN, so you don t have to use an extra cable to bring power.. very cool! does anybody want one of those switches i am gonna order one soon.. cheers

ok new word.. milling table! save and reset (i think i ve read somewhere also compound table) i think that the tool with a round somethingwhatsoever piece of plactic arount the bit is the best choice, you need to know the distance between the edge of the round somethingwhatsoever and the center of the drill, f++k enga man en espanol a ver si me sale mejor, la herramienta que mejor te va a servir es la mas sencilla, la que es nada mas que una rueda de plastico que se pone al rededor del taladro.

hi fky welcome to the board... let s put it like that ... you go to a club with your brand new MB and spin some nice tunes, you spot a nice girl dancing your music, then you go for a drink and meet her, what would you say assuming you like her? "hey you would you f++k with me tonight?" naaaa (well it actually works sometime but quite seldom...) cheers

hi there a cheaper way to cnc machines, you need a good dremel, a dremel press, a good tool of the proper size (2 or 3 mm maybe depending on the fader) and a specific platform for the dremel press with x and y ax movement.Proxxon make one of those, as usual images are better than words ... http://www.proxxon.com/images/produkte/27100_en.jpg that would be a nice tool to have at home

hola yes we can see it.. havent you assembled all the units yet? what s the panel made of right now? cheers simone

yes ok now i am picky and you all hate me ;) BUT i knew those knobs from mec (hey man i live in denmark!) but then i need to cut kinda cross shaped figure in the front panel while i d like to have tehm all together in a single device, it s supposed to be panel mounted i guess, snap in.. cheers simone

hi no, the max ampage you can feed has no limit, for the box won t require more than what it needs cheers simone

hi i had a look into my microkontrol and i can tell you the way it is about those velocity sensitive buttons, i bet it works the same way on the MPC. Above the 16 button pads (or better on the other side of the PCB) there are 4 piezo elements, glued on the PCB, 1 each 4 buttons. So the buttons are both normal switches AND piezo, therefore they can easily avoid cross triggering and they can be used in both ways: you strike a button, the software knows that that button is related to that piezo and it will combine a MIDI event with the proper velocity. It doesn t look so difficult to create such a system, we only need some code to combine the value coming from the piezo together with pushed button, maybe it is time to cooperate with Admir at edrum.info ? I imagine that with those spark fun buttons we could recreate something similar to Microkontrol or MPC. Or better, we can do it better!! Homemade silicone/plastic buttons velocity sensitive, wow! I think i will post also in the edrum forum and see what they say over there. cheers simone hey it s my birthday!!

hi pay_c ..thanks for the info but that s not really what i was looking for.. so i will try to explain it better.. imagine 5 separate switches, 4 in each direction and one in the center. They are independent from and electrical point of view but they come all together in an integrated devide, usually it is round.. so that the central button is round and the 4 outer switches are somehow 1/4 of a crown each... regards simone

hi i am kinda new to the LC world so sorry if that sounds too obvious but i need to ask: in a 2 core LC box can i assign buttons and encoders to send plain MIDI events? i will use only 4 channels. The second core is just for a second GLCD. thanks simone

<<moved from Parts Archive>> hi where can i find any 4 directions + central button switch integrated device for a MB lc ? i don t mean a joystick type but an integrated switch with "4 arrows" and central switch.I remember i ve seen those somewhere but i can t really remember where.. european dealers are preferred (conrad reichelt farnell, etc) thanks simone

Prueba simone

hi well it s plastic if you want plastic but if you re lookin for rubber feeling then it is silicone.Anyone out there knows anything about addition or condensation curing? simone
-
hi there you touch a delicate point indeed, i have no moulding box so far.My idea is to take a "print" (how would you say that?) of a micro kontrol pad with fimo, and then use silicone to get a button.wish me good luck ... but if you can find anything with the proper shape "in negative", there you go. simone

hallo good news for the rubber buttons fanatics.I ve found out that one of the main producers for bi component silicone is right out door. please check this out : http://www.kemitura.dk/index.php?camus:page_id=19 there are 3 different types among addiction, condensation, transparent and translucent.Which one would it be the best for buttons? please hlep me to choose. It costs 300 DKK plus taxes (25%) per kilo (50 euros/kilo) plus shipping if i can t go and pick it up myself.I would share a kilo with anybody interested contact me asap simone

.. the best way to win a war is ... to know your enemy .. .. now of course we are not .. well i am not (just speak for myself) in war against M-audio or other major mass destruction MIDI controller producers (yes there was some political irony in it) still it s nice to see what what is the latest thingy coming out of the market, maybe a source for inspiration and new ideas, they also got some good stuff. And well it s always a pleasure to see some backlit buttons.. .. just my thought simone

hey there i am a bit ashamed :-[ but i need to give it a try again to find an answer to my questions.. the main one right now is this one: i see there are mainly 2 sizes for 128X64 lcds = View area: 70.7 mm X 38.8 mm or 62 mm X 44.6 mm.Does that mean that pots images won t be shown correctly in one model? in this case which one is to be preferred? i ve found the answer to the o clock view: 3, 9, 6 or 12 o'clock (right, left, bottom or top view)

hallo everybody seems to be helping this project so here s my part: i am a carpenter (ecologic, bio, etc.) and have acces to professional machines (no cnc) till the end of September, i am in Danmark, you ask, i do. cheers Simone
