  5. those look sexy, with an led glued to the top and and some fandanglin you could make them illuminated. but its all in the feel of how they press and depress.

  7. Looking pretty good man, I am actually in the process of designing an Ableton controller as well, I was considering the keyboard hack method before I read this. I'm glad I am seeing the pitfalls now, anyways my controller will be more of a dedicated efx controller that I would use in tandem with a mixer component i want to build afterwards. Anyways, I can't wait to see how it ends up looking I'll be sure to check it out, maybe you could post a vid of it in action. ryan
  8. hahah yea you are right, i need to see slowly oscillating color changes. but a good idea, fibre optic cabling is nice.
  9. thats really sweet, I have an older Palm pda but I would love to be able to edit parameters with its interface.
  10. Hey everyone, I have just joined this forum because I am beginning my first DIY project involving an fx controller for use with Ableton. I am building it so that the artists on my record label and myself can use it during our live performances. If anyone wants to see what we do come and visit http://www.danksoul.net to hear our music online through our beatplayer. We have some other stuff on our myspace which is http://www.myspace.com/danksoulrecordings so feel free to add us if you so choose. Anyways, excited to be on this forum and I hope you guys enjoy the tunes. peace Sidetrack.
  11. ohhh that sounds awesome, theres nothing better than buttons with lights on them. Atleast then the crowd can look at flashing lights and not you punching buttons. would be nice if there was some kind of semi transparent material on top to diffuse the light, latex perhaps.
