  1. Sorry I didn't mean to be like angry and demanding ::) but what I mean is when you say make some hardware I want to know like want aspects would I need to study and the software part what language? :D Thanks just trying to take some initiative! :P
  2. Okay weird question but what are all the topics I would to have learned to make a MIDIBOX SNES? And I know all you gonna say well if you don't you probably shouldn't be attempting it, but I don't wanna hear all that blaho. Just answer the first question. Thanks!
  3. Hmmm, a comment on the minimizer I like the portability thing because I'm thinking of using one with a openpandora, but I think that it would be pretty sweet if you just scaled down the old one, as in same exact design but everything is just a little smaller. I dont know but my first DJ midi controller will be the traktorizer, so excited to make one. Also in the kits would I be able to exclude parts so I could change a little my own. Like the top of the jogs or switches or something. Amazing work!
  4. I get it but still i dont see how you couldn't change and LFO for instance with just buttons because you couldn't change it at just the speed you wanted but get close.. oh well :D
  5. Still its way nice ;) oh and how can you control sound parameters with just a keyboard, wouldn't you need at least 1 encoder, (like the SIDS step A control surface)
  6. Wow thanks man! This is one of the best designed user projects on here! Very clean and new! ;D
  7. Thank you very much Thorsten, you will see this soon! ;)
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong it just affects volume of the channels? :o
  9. Haha thats right, I'm doing my initial megaparts order soon for lots of future projects because I'm finally getting a decent work area set up! :P
  10. Okay I just need to know start to finish how to get the sid firmware on a mac to the midibox sid. Do you just get a USB to MIDI converter and go through with Sysex? Sorry I'm not to programming inclined :-[
  11. Okay sorry for bump but get me right, (I know will be using 2 SIDS) I need 46 buttons, 99 LEDS, 15 rotary encoders (I thought I needed pots?), 3 DINX4, 2 DOUTX4, 4X20 LCD (I like that one best), and the veroboards. Thanks I'm sorry for my nuisances! :-X
  12. Woot great job man! :D
  13. Hey I was just wondering could you build a button LED matrix without building the Midibox SEQ? I will eventually build the SEQ but I can't right now due to working on multiple Synthies, but it would be fun to mess with the LED matrix. Thanks for all! ;)
  14. Ooooh I'll be ordering a bunch soon for my SID and FM! ;D
  15. It looks like the greybox/norfair domain thing is up for sale and the site is down. But I was chopping up the URL to see if I could find anything and I found this! http://web.archive.org/web/20030805180424/greybox.norfair.org/ Now I must read it! Update: found this in a random review of MIDINES some guy said it Note that the "greybox" synthesizer, a system based around the NES sound chip with a better MIDI implementation and facilities for realtime control, will finally be completed in 2006. Even More from that guy - I'll be testing the greybox as soon as the hardware is completed and the software approaches that stage. The guy working on it is a very good friend of mine, and has attached an ultimatum to the project: really bad shit happens to him if it isn't completed on schedule. I'm not sure what his plans are for the Greybox after its completion (he evaluated some options for manufacturing but they were too expensive for the demand that the project received a few years ago), but I think it would be cool if it would be able to be distributed in kit form or something. Yeah, interfacing the 2A03 to a microcontroller seemed to be a tough point of design for him... I think many of the hardware revisions from a few years ago made use of some obscene dual-port RAM configuration. I hear the new designs are much more compact and well-engineered, but I haven't seen them for myself yet. It's cool to see that his project has come this far, evolving out of some wishful thinking about 6 years ago. Back then, we discussed how such a MIDI-based NES device could be accomplished... his idea became the greybox, while I briefly wondered if a cartridge-based MIDI interface could be possible (which wayfar has accomplished with style!) I figure he'll put up a webpage documenting the greybox's progress once the project gets back into a presentable condition. There was a webpage with tons of information on the product a few years ago, but it was trolled by dipshits from TGS that would rather argue about the page's profanity and inconsequential elements of presentation rather than discussing important musical issues that the greybox had brought to consciousness. Nother update this is the schematic that he designed! http://web.archive.org/web/20021123203524/http://greybox.norfair.org/fabprint.jpg
  16. ahhhh, who did? ;)
  17. Wait, but didn't you design this? http://web.archive.org/web/20030807154729/greybox.norfair.org/proto_r4.jpg
  18. Wow thats a beauty! Where'd you get the case? I really like the top part with the LCD! I might pattern mine after yours! ;D
  19. Sweet this thing will pump those sound waves!
  20. What about Nils pokey synth or lemonhorses AY synth? (i think the same AY chip)
  21. Hey I was reading about connecting the CEM filters to the Aout LC module. First off what I the Aout LC module? I can only find Aout NG module. Also where can you read about the CEM filters. And lastly how do you connect the two together? Thanks everyone :D
  22. I would use Smashes but my uncle is gonna give me a ton of parts and I'm sure he has some so I'd rather get some free. What value are Smashes?
  23. What is a good value encoder to use on the FM? Specific kind of buttons? What size vectorboards? I'm sorry I couldn't find it on ucapps. Also are there different values for diodes? :'(
