  1. Wow Incredible Work I must Say! ;D Man I was going to get a Sinclair ZX Spectrum to make music with this chip but now... ::) The day will be good when I jamming with my 8-bit symphony, Midiboxes SID, POKEY, NES, SNES-APU, AY, Heres some sound of the AY chip.
  2. O yeah I can't forget Midibox POKEY!
  3. Hey I was just wondering are there any non-cosmetic changes? I think there are but I can't tell?
  4. Hey Chr0n1c, have you worked out that module yet? Don't let this die people!
  5. Come on people don't let this die! I don't want to be the only one working on it!
  6. Update I can get a hold of the chip through a broken 2 GS at my friends teaching job. They had a 2 GS for some reason. Also this is going to be a long while. Don't expect this to go fast at all because right now I'm working on Midiboxes, SID, FM, 64, NES, SNES-APU, and this one. So be patient.
  7. I think so but I can't find much info about it on the web? ??? Anyone have any good links?
  8. I would just like to notify everyone that I am starting the creation of The Midibox SONIQ or Midibox DOC. ;D It is a synth that utilizes the Apple 2 GS's soundchip the Ensoniq ES5503 DOC. This is notable as the first sound chip in a computer that uses wavetables. It was also used in 2 Ensoniq synthesizers. I'm gonna need some help with programming because I'm pretty clueless there but I am starting to work on the hardware! ::) This is going to be one cool synth when it is done! Thanks for everything! :D
  9. Hey this is pretty cool! Let me know how I can help, I can help anyway except programming. But I can try to improve PCB's etc.
  10. Would that work Stryde? ???
  11. Hey if you mill out a prototype I'll gladly test and try to improve it!
  12. Sorry for bump but this would be incredible if someone did it. You have no idea what this would do for the chiptune scene. It would be bigger than the Midibox Sid even. Let me know if I can help in any way. It would be so cool to have NES and SNES synths! THIS IS AWESOME!
  13. I'll help anyway possible. Man I'd make this in a heartbeat! Sorry for bump
  14. Changed my mind lol. I'm going with SID because I'm way more into chiptunes and obsolete hardware and stuff but I'm making FM after it too! This is fun!
  15. How much would shipping be to Wisconsin for 5? :D
  16. Allright I think I'm gonna go FM. I like the sound and smd soldering doesn't matter to me much so meh. Also being young means i'm dumb and not as learned as you.
  17. Okay I need to pick to build a Midibox Sid or a Midibox FM. I am pretty young and so I want to start with an easier one and I think the FM is a bit easier/simpler but the Sid I was going to make was a C step with 1 sid. But I think I might like the sid sound a bit more but I've been getting more and more interested in the FM sound after hearing NILS rendition of Grabbag. So which should be my project over the summer? ::)
  18. Ooh thanks, also on Smashes site it say you need jumpers, is that just a wire on the red line? Thanks
  19. Thanks, I actually made a post like 2 months ago but have been busy lately. Thanks!
  20. Hey I'm right there with you. I happen to have OCD. Its a real pain but it doesn't affect my social abilities just ticks me off to no end. So don't apologize. We will help you all we can. Also for people who don't know Asperger's Syndrome = Autism, correct?
  21. Where can you find a list for all the parts that go on the OPL3 module, because I noticed smash doesn't sell them in kits. Also as I am starting to build my Midibox SID and FM I will try to make a walkthrough and detail how i did. Thanks and you guys rock.
  22. By 3x4 din do you mean 12 modules? sorry :'( i dumb
  23. Thanks, is that the one TK uses?
  24. I have some quick questions. :P First is I read the wiki but I still don't understand AOUT DOUT AIN DIN what is there function? Also what would I need for a complete control surface with only one sid. From what I know its a core module, a sid module, and then what? Basically I want a full fledged Midibox Sid with only one sid. Thanks for the help, You guys are the best!
