This "red beast" has been created by Francois aka. Polykobol.
On top of a Yamaha TX816 (8 modules, 128 voices, 48 operators)
Which one produces better sounds? ;-)

Bonjour Thorsten,

Good question... Well, until now, the Midibox FM has got random patches.
I would use the Midibox FM more in this direction.
And at the moment the TX 816 has got symphonic, strings and pads sounds...
And you know, the TX 816 is really good for that.

At the moment I can't really compare them. They are there for the right use.

Thanks for the message and nice work!

C.U.

Francois

Both very nice bits of kit :)

Tip for ya poly: You can get these mats made out of rubber woven into a grid, intended as a non-slip-non-scratch surface... You'll probably find such a thing in your local hardware store. When you stack your rackmount stuff like that, they work really well to separate bits of kit so they don't scratch each other, and don't vibrate around when you crank up the monitors ;)

Edit: aha, like this:
