toneburst
Sorry if this is a RTFM question, but could someone take me through the process of removing the detents from the VOTI-sourced encoders for the MB-6582 CS? Or point me at a walkthrough.Cheers,a|x
sakodak
If you give me some time I can take some pics and post them, but basically you bend the four clasps back, remove the bottom and bend down (or up, depending on your perspective) the half-circle thingie. Re attach to the bottom, bend the clasps back.Technical, eh? :)

julienvoirin
great job ! but you should show the result and circle the bended area for "bad english" user. I know several people that argue me with "how do you biuld MB-6582 ?" even when i explain them it is in the wiki (and ALL is in the wiki) :P

Filch
I actually went so far as to separate the white plastic from the bottom and just removed the detent copper completely.

Filch
Pics please :)(or at least update the wiki page with soem text)All my encoders are already soldered onto the PCB, so I can't provide a pic right now. I did update the text of the wiki though. I was cutting those metal rings out at first and in the process I noticed that the white plastic mold separates from the metal bottom quite easily. You just lift the ring off completely and snap the mold back into place. If someone who hasn't removed all of theirs yet would like to provide a pic of this process..... :)Yay, my first wiki contribution... woot!
