hmmmm, very interesting! is this 8x8 MIDI router MIDIbox too? oh, and that double midi keyboard looks awesome! great! your video's containing very useful hints for newbies: uv-source, professional SMD soldering...

rosch:

No, the router isn't based on midibox, due to the lack of uart interfaces.

It's based on the mega2560 and will contain two of them.

Professional SMT soldering is done quite differently, nevertheless such an oven helps a lot ;)

Thx for the comments

:-[ to me it seemed very professional... i've only seen that link to the guy who explains how to solder them with some "flux" and just an iron. so, if this isn't prof i'm looking forward to soldering an OPL3 soon myself :)

Something I didn't mention earlier is how impressed I am with the density in that lab.... I mean... it's not easy to fit so much stuff into a small space like you have, it's really crammed in, but still easily accessible... I know from my experience, that it doesn't come easy... For me it's usually a case of rearranging everything until it all fits, which usually take a looong time ;)

Hehe, it's a mess :)

I'm gonna make some changes tomorrow, bring down some gear, move other things up...

might do a quick update on what's in it then.

In the meantime, you're all welcome to show your labs, too ;)

Hey, a lab is a lab is a lab. Right now, my most active 'lab' is a bunch of USB cables leading to a bean-bag in my living room ;)

OMG! the bean bag has become self-aware! run away, run away!

Never mind "The Cars that Ate Paris", we'll soon have "The beabag that Ate Melbourne".
