julienvoirin
Dear MidiboxersI've made a Bipolar PSU 220V AC : +/- 12V DC, following those rules : =bipolar&s[]=psu]http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=bipolar_12v_psu&s[]=bipolar&s[]=psuIt works fine, i've done it on verobaord with Fuse and switch, but i'd like to protect the user (me !) against electric shocks as it will be handled and used as is (not in a box). I've already put some nails enamel on the 220V circuit before the transformer and i would like to know if it is efficient (and enough !)Any advices welcome :)
Wilba
I believe two-part epoxy glue is often used to totally encase circuits (for weatherproofing or hazardous conditions).Perhaps you can cover the high voltage areas with that. SLP
I'm using lots of hot glue and sticky tape for such applications.
nebula
I would worry about enamel flaking off and exposing live copper. The epoxy Wilba's talking about is often referred to (in North America, anyway) as "potting compound".For small boards requiring isolation, sometimes large-sized heat-shrinkable tubing works well. nILS
Also please separate individual tags by commas. "electric shock PSU bipolar" -> "shock, psu, bipolar"
