Hi, I want to connect a simple 4 character 5x7 dot matrix display to the core. Problem: To read the datasheet and connect the right Pin's to the J15 core.

For example:

Display datasheet says: Pin4 = A1 Digit select

Pin5 = A0 Digit select

Furthermore, is there a Vcc on the core ?? I only knew Vdd and Vss.

Display Name: Siemens DLG1414

=>Sorry there is no direct link to the datasheet possible. <= I put a PDF as attachment, but there is a link:

Datasheet can be found at www.datasheedarchive.com

Then search for "DLG1414"

Then go to "Datasheet Search Results"

Here you find : DLG1414 Siemens Semiconductors.

Just click the PDF Icon to open the document.

It will be great if someone could help me !!!

Your 4 - digit Siemens DLG1414 display isn't compatible with the MBHP Core module. Read more ...the LCD Module / Supported LCD options in the uCApps section.

Thanks for your message. I dont want to use this Siemens display as equal as the recomanded 2x20 LCD.

I want to use this display for showing the value of a pot from the Analog IN Module.

The value of a pot must be converted into a digital value (0-127).

I just want to show this value on the display.

Yes, it is possible to use this display, you'll have to write yourself a driver for it though (from a quick look at the datasheet that won't involve any voodoo).

Vdd and Vcc are just different naming conventions for the same thing - Voltages. In the case of a core8 Vcc is 5V which is what the display needs, so you're all set on that front.
