sparx
Hi all OK just uploaded MIOS 1.9g followed by setup_8580.hex 2rc35 onto a previously working box and now the control surface doesn't respond like it used to. Have 2 boxes here, one is stuffed with 6582's thats working fine, at switch I get great blinky lights on the matrix, with this one it does nothing and all the buttons seem to have different functions. Any ideas anyone? Thanks S
seppoman
what exactly is your "box"? if you're talking about two MB6582s, setup_8580.hex is the wrong file (regardless of which type of SIDs is installed). S
sparx
Slight update and thanks for the reply. In answer to your question, I have two Wilba SID V2, one is fully working with 8 6582's and one was fully working with 8 8580's. 6582 box has MIOS 1.9g with V2R35, 8580 had 1.9f with an earlier version of SID V2. Loading up 1.9g on the 8580 caused the control surface to disappear, the knobs did things but the buttons didn't. Tried a number of things to get back to a working machine, which I now have. Its currently at 1.9g with version R17 of the SID V2 software. S

sparx
Because we are too tired to write it fully? Problem has been solved, don't know what caused it initially but its gone now. It does help greatly of course if you aren't loading an older version thinking its the newer one! Time for sleep. S(parx)

Smithy
As seppoman says, the problem was caused by uploading the wrong hex file -> setup_8580.hex setup_8580.hex != setup_mb6582.hex Just making sure others dont think this was solved by some sort of miracle. Always use setup_mb6582.hex for mb-6582.
