HUROLURA Posted August 6, 2010 Author Report Posted August 6, 2010 And it is also available there: http://www.thomann.de/fr/use_audio_plugiator_asx_board.htm at a really low price. Couldn't resist and bought one
HUROLURA Posted September 19, 2010 Author Report Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) Still thinking about the way to design something usefull. Grab an access Virus A meanwhile to see if there is another way to handle easy sound-design ... and spent much time on it. Any other ideas/suggestions ? Edited September 19, 2010 by HUROLURA
HUROLURA Posted October 12, 2010 Author Report Posted October 12, 2010 Just while going on thinking about this project, I just noticed the Feeltune Rhizome which could also be of any inspiration in term of design concept.
maniac Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Hi, i just bought a used plugiator ASX (finally!). Still waiting for delivery, but in the meantime I would like to assemble parts needed to run plugiator without a CME keyboard. And here I have a question - does anyone know the name of white power connector on plugiator PCB ? It may be molex kk 2.5 or 2.54, but is difficult to recognize from attached photo ?

I had a look for you. I held a 2.54 rm strip next to it and it seems to be 2.54. But it's not the KK kind. Still looking what it is though.

Still looking what it is though. Thank you for taking measurements. If this is not a standard kk type, it may be difficult to identify the socket. At the beginning I may try this kind of connector- not ideal solution, but at least it should be possible to run the synthesizer.

HUROLURA Posted November 21, 2010 Author Report Posted November 21, 2010 You should just be really carefull when pluging it as there is nothing to prvent you from reverting the connector and connect it reverse !!! If you think it can help, I could open my Plugiator to check if I can guess waht connector model it is or take picture of it ... Just ask.

The picture is in And as you can see its impossible to reverse it as it is symmetrical.
HUROLURA Posted November 22, 2010 Author Report Posted November 22, 2010 I was talking about the mating connector, the one you have to plug in the board. The type of connector Maniac found doesn't have any mechanical part to prevent the reverse connexion. Just a thought ...

The type of connector Maniac found doesn't have any mechanical part to prevent the reverse connexion. Just a thought ... Fortunately even if I plug the connector other way, nothing happens. As Shuriken said pins are arranged symmetrically. However, the connector that I plan to use, will not not be a reliable connection. Therefore, if anyone knows the exact name of the connector, I will be grateful for information.

I had a good look at the catalog of molex. But i couldnt find a match. It might be an idea to e-mail the guys at Use Audio, and ask them what it is.
HUROLURA Posted November 23, 2010 Author Report Posted November 23, 2010 OK the reverse connection won't hurt ... I was thinking about the other connector for midi actually
Shuriken Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 I think i found the connector type. By the look of things it might very well be the JST type XHP. I have ordered them at conrad to see if it is really the right one.
HUROLURA Posted December 18, 2010 Author Report Posted December 18, 2010 Good news, keep us informed. And if it is the right reference, it would be easy to find then. By the way, what is the conrad ref ?
Shuriken Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 I got the connectors today. And as i suspected they fit like a glove. Conrad Ref is: art. nr. 740549 - xhp-2 art. nr. 740617 - xhp-4 the crimp connectors needed are: art. nr. 741112
HUROLURA Posted December 25, 2010 Author Report Posted December 25, 2010 Nice news Too bad they are not available on the french Conrad website ... By the way MERRY X-MAS !!!
maniac Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 This connectors are also available in tme shop http://www.tme.eu/ - there is also french language version, so they should send items to France :) Marry Christmas and Happy New Year.
HUROLURA Posted July 7, 2011 Author Report Posted July 7, 2011 I just hacked my Bliptronic to install a Bliptronome v2 to be able to use it as OSC/MIDI device. Just noticed that the connector from the removed board from the Bliptronic 5000 are just the same as thoose necessary for the ASX. So now, I do not even need to source them !!! Still figuring out how I could relaunch the project. Could also be a nice app for LPC17 prototype testing ...
pasbel Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 Hi It's a very old post ! What is the pinot for MIDI connection ?
