It sounds much stronger and deeper, especially the filter is absolute coolness.Yes, the 6581 really sounds filthier. Jurbo Posted October 26, 2004 Report Share Posted October 26, 2004 After finally getting to compare the chips (and different capacitors, too) with a joystick controlled filter, I too find the 8580 more to my liking. The 6581 has a bit softer, more fluent tone in the bass register, but the 8580 has an overall sound that is more "in your face" and expressive, and the filter is capable of more nuances.So, anyone out there with a 8580 to sell?
