doc
No,you don't need a LCD.But please assign the port for it on the core. In some cases it could be useful for debugging. The LCD is not a "must" part.greetsDoc

jimhenry
You don't need an LCD but it will make your life much easier if you have it. You'll be able to see the core properly loading the software and then see what inputs the project is recognizing and what outputs it thinks it is sending. With 32 inputs and 64 outputs you'll want all the clues you can get. After you sucessfully build one project, then you can consider building one without an LCD, but I bet you won't want to. Sephult
I usually check with with allelectronics.comI am not for sure if this is prepped with the proper controller, although it does show the proper pinouts. Maybe someone in the forum can help verify this. Here is the linkhttp://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=365&item=LCD-105&type=storeFor $6.50 I doubt you will find anything better or cheaper.I do agree with the others that it is alot easier to debug and have a "monitor" for use with your box. But hey its not required.
goyousalukis
Hey, I recommend you get an LCD for troubleshooting purposes too. Here is an ebay seller that I have used before with success: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQgotopageZ1QQsassZdche168yahooQQsosortorderZ1QQsosortpropertyZ1he has a 16x2 for $1.49 + $4.95 for shipping. This has no backlight though. The backlit one is $5.49.I bought 2 40x2 lcds awhile ago, with no problems. Justin
