Hi all, I. Am still struggling with finding where I can setup the midibox seq v4 to default the FTS in the live mode page to ON rather than off... I've Lear nt so much just poking around in the files that load to the sd card but this still is bugging me as I know it should be something I can default to On. Thanks Phill
-
I how have my midibox playing almost exactly as I want it but every time I power cycle the FTS setting within the LIVE menu defaults back to OFF, how can I get this to be stored to always on? I love this setting as it lets my external keyboard, by default, play in a scailic way... I know I could just remember to turn it onevery time but now I have had a full day messing with the code and programming my own ideal button behaviours, it feels like this should be a setting somewhere. thanks Phill

Sorted thanks to all

sounds like a button hasn't been assigned to the right SR and Pin?....I'm only a day ahead here so what do I know, but my STOP does actually stops the seq and all notes..

Ok, here is another little tweak... in the Live record setup is there any way the CHANNEL can be changed to ALL? I only ask because my tone generator moves its keyboard channel as I move around selecting different inputs. Also, second question ... eventually I would like to have a drum pad input and a keyboard input ... but as I see it, the live record settings are global to itself and not linked to the 1,2,3,4 midi seq tracks I am recording to, is there any way to link them? in this case (in distance to the situation above) I'd like to set up the live record function so that if I am live recording on tracks 1,2,3 (my melody tracks) it is taking input from channel 1 but if I switch to live record on track 4 it Is automatically saved to take input from channel #10 without having to change it on the live record menu...is this possible? sorry for so many newbie questions , just trying to find my flow. Phill

Wow, I took the plunge and it worked first time !!! I managed to set up the Menu button to toggle rather than hold which I love, I got rid of the odd Midi CC mode that was bugging me and I managed to assign bookmarks (super powerful stuff). thanks for introducing me to the wonderful world of modifications...a few days ago it seemed like a bad Idea, now I feel very free to experiment. Superb, can't wait to get home and have a play now. Thanks for your help

ah, that's IT for sure, is there any menu system on the actual midibox itself where this can be changed? I only ask because, to be honest , at the moment I am just a humble musician and have never dared to get involved with writing or fiddling with code...to my detriment I am sure, and if it has to be done so...I will look at it as acquiring some new skills, but thought it was worth an ask before I start looking at the "for dummies guides" thanks for taking the time, Phill

Hi again, I have spent another wonderful evening with my Midibox Seq v4 and I am starting to feel pretty at home with the front panel and its sequencing however, I seem to be having issue with realtime recording, it seems like certain notes played from my input keyboard are causing the sequencer to stop rather than recording the notes in realtime, I cant figure out why it would be doing this... the notes also seem to trigger some kind of switching between the layers ( I am figuring this form the 1,2,3 lights changing as certain notes are pressed)... any ideas what I have set up wrong?

Is it possible to move the order of menu items within a menu? thanks for helping to ease me in to the world of programming, I will have a play and see what I get I suppose. Phill

Thanks for the reply, this is so tantalizing, that it COULD be done ....but probably not by me, I just took a look at some of the other fragments of code on here and it is all a forign language to me, just like music notation, skills I dearly wish I had the time to pick up but alas life gets in the way. for any of the other generous souls who may be reading and contemplating helping out, I will go home tonight and write a spec of exactly what I am trying to achieve so that anyone kind enough to make these changes for me will have an easier and more clearly defined description. thanks again, Phill

Hi there, I have just taken ownership of a Midibox Seq V4 from a builder on the forum. the machine is beautiful and I am loving the whole concept , I just wondered if I could ask a few polite questions that some of you who know more than me may be able to answer. 1. Is there any way to use the F1, F2, F3, F4 buttons for accessing different pages than their defaults? basically I would LOVE to bring the following functions to the top level of themenu hierachy as I am using this unit in realtime performance .. 1. Realtime record 2. the FX page ( as I change scales on the fly extensively) 3. length page I would then keep F4 as a means to quick access the other main menu page (not got the unit with me at the moment but I am sure one of the F keys already does this). is this something that could be rewritten and then uploaded into the unit? 2.. is there a quick way to clear all notes and start again from settings that I like to have as default? the reasoning behind this is simple, I like to know my 4 parts are set to certain lengths and forced to scale, but beyond that I do amm my pattern entry live from a blank canvas...then at the end of the song , I need ot be able to quickly erase all the data and star the next song...so far I have only been able to either do this by removing the staps manually or unplugging and replugging the unit...I am sure Im missing something? thanks in advance for your replies, I look forward to becoming an active member in the group. Hi again, I have just seen this one Ebay in the UK http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200937697456&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123 is this a legitimate sale from someone on the forum? is £250 a reasonable amout to pay? it seems considerably more than the guide prices I have seen considering it looks vauguely not working in the description, but I am pretty despairate to own one so I am tempted. any advice or infomation would be appreciated, and of course, anyone looking to part with either a Midibox Seq v4 or v4 lite, please get in touch.- 6 replies

Hi there fellow midi heads. this is a very genuine request for anyone on this forum who has a Midibos Seq V4 or V4 lite that they are contemplating parting with or building for a little extra funds. I am a very serious dedicated all live musician, my act MyOneManBand revolves around me building EVERY track live from the ground up...to do this I use LOADS of MIDI equipment, a lot of them with very lack-lustre sequencers. So I guess, this is a plea. I'm not a builder or a solderer, I wish I was, but Im just a humble musician who loves what I do, and now I have found what looks like the best tool for the job, but I am hoping that one of you has a Midibox going spare, and which you would be so kind as to sell to me to genuinely help me in my own music making. here is my work www.youtube.com/phillwilson and more about me www.myonemanband.co.uk I am not arich musician, I am just a normal guy but I will always try to pay what is fair for the tools I use. thanks for reading, please PM me or email me at phillwilson@hotmail.com if you have anything for sale. I am currently based in Belgium but will be returning to the UK in a short while. thanks Phill MyOneManBand.
