    SPST Toggles

Does that mean that when the button is pushed they should be silent? Following the advice given in the MB walkthrough; the buttons i got are the ones that beep continueous when pressed, and silent when open(hooked up to a dmm)... Have i got the wrong ones...:/

    DIY Encoder Q

Hi... In order to save some coinage i'm gonna make my encoders from a bunch of old serial mice. Has anybody else gone this route on they're midibox? How did they respond? I'm gonna follow the guide from that 'diy spinner' pdf posted a while bak...but also integrate a pushbutton...;) Also, am i able to use the opto-interrupter from both the x and y axis so I can get 2 encoders from one mouse...? Finally, 36 pulses seems the number that has been said before, should i roll with this or make it 40 as suggested in the pdf...? Ta, Dan

  6. I'm new to all this aswell well and the items that have cost the most so far have been the tools... Ebay has been my saviour - I got most me tools (and a lot of components, including plenty of C64's for the SIDs ;)) of there... I'm gonna be using a dremel for when it comes to piercing metal. However, if you've got the reddies try this place in Germany (ship worldwide apparently): http://www.schaeffer-apparatebau.de/ You can download a free program to design your front panel and send of the file to have it cut - it even works out the price as you go along. I used this for my design as it's incredibly easy to use. I'm then gonna print this out to scale and spray mount it to my case to use as a template when cutting... Once the cutting has been done, I'll take the pdf of the design I done, import that into Illustrator and do the artwork for the panel. This will be printed on decal paper which is then applied to the metal panel... HTH... Dan

  12. Thanks for clearing up all that...;) One last q before the 4x40's go on ebay... Would it be possible to display the info from one core on the top 2 lines and the info from another core on remaining 2? Would it require a chunky firmware mod...? I did ask a similar question before but I don't know if this would involve the same adaption or not... Cheers...

  14. instead of adding another thread, and as this is another parts q I thought I'll add it here since the above 2 are still unanswered... I've got 2 x 4x40 LCDs which i was planning to use in my box. The Q is - is it worth selling them or can the LC MB f/w be easily tweaked (which as we know needs a 2x55 display) to show all info on 4 lines...so it's be like a 2x80 display... I know this has been talked about before but ya never know - well i dont neway...;) Peace... Dan

  18. Hi... Do the encoders have to be all set to the same mode? For example, can i have 9 of them in 'ENC_MODE_LCEMU' (8 as V-Pots / 1 as a srubb wheel) and the rest as 'ENC_MODE_ABSOLUTE'...? The same goes for the buttons, how are these set up for LC MODE? Are they automatically assigned to LC functions when LC MODE is enabled? I looked in the .ini file and it doesn't list any info regarding LCMODE button implementation... is it down to us and the LC manual to put in the midi msgs? - which is all good of course...;) Loverly...
