Hi alienspice... I was reffering to the logic control guide book pdf that lists the MIDI specification of the LC, it's available on the emagic site as pdf doc... Best... Dan

give them all a MBHP project to do is what I say...;) make music not war!
-
whoops, had the 7805 stuffed the wrong way... now i'm gettin 4.5V ;)...
-
actually, the voltages are not okay... using a 9v 500mA to test the core with. on input measure is 11.7V and at the points where it should be 5V it still measures 11.7...:(
-
btw, voltages test okay on these! ;)

well, i've finally got round to the actual fabrication of the mbhp modules (only after a 100 odd posts :P)... on the first run, i made the a couple mirrored, so in order to save them i just soldered in eveything mirrored - should everything be okay? is it okay to run the IC's upside down (as it's mirrrored) i just bent the pins a full 90 degress so it all matched right... now to make more boards - this time the right way round ;)
-
sounds good...;) let us know the right length etc...also, the the kinda of material u use too, mebbe even a lil walkthrough for all other MBHP peep out there... i was aiming to do the same type walkthrough with the encoder's that have a built in switch i made from a bunch of old mice (see pic)...but it only looks this nice so far, still yet to hook it up to a din and find out if it all works... :o All the best... Dan

so clear, so concise ;) thanks man! yup those encoder do have buttons housed inside (they are the ones i made from a bunch of old serial mice - posted a thread a week or so ago with some pics ;)) ... sounds good to me! ;D peace... Dan

apologies :P all is clear now, shudda realised to consult the LC pdf... so the leds are assigned in midibox16e_lc.ini or is the corresponding output on the dout module automatically assigned to the LC function? ie: rude solo (ID 73) would be LED #64 (which would be on the 2nd dout module)... however, looking at midibox16e_lc.ini file I notcied: [LED_MAP] LED_SR7 = 8 # (Button ID #57-#64) So I assume this means that as rude solo is on ID 73, it wont work - but could the midibox_mf_lc.ini f/w on the 2nd core handle ID's upwards of 64, thus allowing rude solo, smpte, beats and relay click LEDs to be lit when the appropriate button is pressed? Guessin I missed summin..again :/ That panasonic motorfader installation q is still valid too ;) cheers
-
is this okay to use: SX0-200B 10,36800 MHz or: HC18 11,0592 MHz Cheers...
-
yes, my order has already been proceed and the components are in transit... so, i guess now I must hunt a 10Mhz xtal - i'm sure i can get that locally ;) Thanks...
-
Excellent work ;D, looks stunning! I've ordered the same LCD from reicfelt and notcied on 15.jpg that u have a pot attached to the LCD. Is that to adjust the output voltage? (pins 20 & 3) What value is it 1k, 10k? Great stuff! D
-
o, and would it be possible to have (along with the 8 panasonic motorfaders) a single 10k linear fader to an AIN module to act as the Master Fader as on the LC too...? Also, are there any special notes on using the panasonic motorfaders? conductive knobs or nefin? Once again... Thanks! ;)) Dan

Hi... Just a quick 1 to make sure how i've planned the button/LED assignment for my box (basically an exact clone). As I'm making etched boards to hold the buttons/LEDs, i'd like to make sure it'll all work nicely beforehand...;) NOTE: the pic is missing the 8 signal LEDS, these will be placed under the LCD... Cheers... Dan

Here's a link that'll show ya how to make your own.... http://www.geocities.com/tpe123/folkurban/synthstick/synthstick.html Best... Dan

well, i re-read the instructions took some deep breaths and started again - success! :) nice clean tracks... i done everything right yesterday cept I didnt leave the boards etching long enough which caused the initial confusion... now i just gotta make loadsa boards...great :-/

along with the 8 motor faders, could one also use a single slider connected to the ain to act as the master fader? - as on the normal LC.... My LC design would then have the following: 8 motorfaders + 1 10k master fader 9 encoders + 8 16LED rings (was also thinking of having an LED bar display and be able to switch between the two LED displays) 85 Buttons (all assigned to LC controls) 62 LEDS (65 if the smpte, beats and rude solo LED's can also be implemented - as on LC. All assigned to LC controls) So basically, an exact clone of an LC... And all this is doable from Feb? Fantastic ;)

Well, today i tried making my own pcbs - for the first time and I messed up :( I'm using copper clad boards sprayed with Positiv20. I know the artwork has to be mirrored, but does it also have to be a negative image (so the tracks are transparent) I cant work it out...i did it like this: Printed out the the mirrored artwork so the tracks, drill holes etc are black (positive image correct?) on a transparacy, placed this on a lightbox with ink side up, and then placed the photoresist side of the board on top of that, then exposed as normal... I then developed the boards and I could see the tracks turn dark in colour (this is the resist right?), they came out nice n sharp, I then washed with water and put the boards in the tray with fC - this is where it went wrong...and i got in panic... The resist/black areas (tracks, drill holes etc) should turn to what? copper right? and the uncoated areas get dissolved, or does the resist stay on during etchin, then once all the uncoated copper gets dissolved you remove the board and scrubb the photoresist off with wirewool leaving the copper tracks behind...? If anyone can give me some pointers using the positiv20 and how the artwork should be printed (positive/negative) it'd be appreciated... I've got a load of walkthroughs and pages bookmark, and also read the guide on the site but as u've read it aint it home for me :/ Cheers Dan

noticed the 4 SIDs u got runnin there T... ;D I've got 5 6581's so I would go with the same route, how are all the modules connected inside...? Am I jumping in the gun in asking as is this info which is still to come...? WRT Maniacs Q: If by this u mean use the sid box as a normal midi controller then looking at T's post: ...i'd say so ;)

is this the one: IC-Prog NT/2000 driver - ZIP containing icprog.sys

o :/ is XP a no-go or summin, is the any tips, advice etc for smooth trouble free opertation for JDM/XP configs that havn't been written....? I'm all XP SP1 here thesedays... is it worth dusting of the old 98 CD and making a parition just to program the PICs....? What are these win2000 drvs mentioned and is there a link to em on the ucapps site....? Best.... Dan
-
I rek so, if you look at the pic the red/pink wires (I count 9) will be the bridges to solder that'll save ya from using a dbl sided board... HTH... Dan

Whata great idea in re-using the old C64 case...! ;D

Is that all !?? :o your slacking T... heh, only kidding ;D Again - incredible stuff, patches stored on bankstick...hmmmmmmmm ;)
