  1. or how's about adding the midimon, but without the 4x20 LCD and use some 7-digit leds instead, power usage would be lower so i could run it all from 1 wallplug...
  2. okay... this is my plan (after mucho headscratching) : Will this work? The idea is to have the 16E on one core with the latest f/w thats emu's the LC, then a second core with the MB64 f/w. The 64 pots on this core will be assigned to a CC and left just to that (hence no LCD required)... I was thinking of also adding the Midimon option too (as in the MegaMIDIbox pdf), but if i do can i still run it all from a single wall plug power supply...? I'm gettin there...;) Rspx... Dan

  4. Hi... I ordered too many faders for my mb64 project... I have 8 ALPS Super Slim Line, 10k 100mm Linear available with 10 black knobs... All brand new, unopened in packet... I got them from RS in the UK, faders retail for £3.24 each and the knobs are £1.35 per 5 pack... Askin £28 all in (plus cost of wherever it wants sent) Paypal/cheques all good... So lemmeno... Peace... D
  5. whhoooo!! ;D still got a lot of q's on this and the box i'm doin, but in the meantime, this place in Japan does custom LCD's: http://www.okaya.com/oeachart.html mebbe if a group-buy type thing is done the price could be resonable - tho i doubt it... best...
  6. Nice, nice...;) So with this 3-cored mega midi box i'm plannin i could also whip in a forth core with the 16E firmware, chain the midi output, add another display (a 2x55 is they're out there ;) ) and bingo... I'd only have 9 encoders total, 8 for messin, and 1 big transport dial... it'd also be nice to have a 'flip' type feature where u could quickly assign the cc param of any current pot to this main encoder dial (or fader or whatever u want)... Give that man a medal...! Peace
  7. I got a 100 10k liner pots of ebay for 15 EU...they are pcb mount tho, which is good for me cos that's where they're goin...;) Have a look, think there might be a few more auctions... Good Luck!!
  8. OMG!! Thorsten, how do you keep on doin this...??!! Everytime I think i've got me perfect box sussed u pull another surprise...!! :) How did u hook it up...? Is this a new pre-NG firmware update just for the MF and 16E? The aim for me was to do a box based on the mega-midibox, but also have sum encoders in there - cos of this i thought it may be best to wait for the NG to land and this supports all this without using multiple core's.... Back to the drawing board again... ;)... can't wait for this one to develop sum more...!! Rspx...
  9. Yeah, i got the pdf they put up... Does list a lot of info - chap 13 shows the midi implementation in full... But this is just for the LC and how it communicates to logic (and now other seqs), so i dunno if it'll be of use for mbhp stuff - but what do i know! This bit caught my eye - under common control msgs (chap13), it shows what the jog dial sends out to control the SPL: Could this be applied to a rotary encoder in a the new firmware perhaps...? ;) Sho be nice...!! best... Dan
  10. Cheers T, good to know... was gonna try an do a single pcb, but now - as the modules are 1:1 may as well go that route and keep everything as it's meant to be...untill the new style drops!! The mbhp future looks o-so-good!! Best... Dan
  11. ...it sure does! Nice1...
  12. Will there be new MBHP modules when this MIDIBOX NG lands...? Or will the exsisting ones - ain, din and so on, be compatible...? Cheers
  13. what about panels that have a front, top, and back panel - so it's like a 3 sided sheet...or a box without a bottom and sides... can these places handle this kinda panel or do they have to be flat...i'm guessin it'd be fine as it's a hammond case and these i gather are used quite a bit for instrument projects... I was thinking of using schaeffer-apparatebau in Germany as i heard only positive results from ppl usin them b4... best... dan
  14. nice1 for that spinner link rogic...i just made one! have to finish the cap and mounting bracket but the internal works seem to be intact... So u connect a 470 Ohm resistor in serial to the LED and that goes to the +5(vs) of the din or core, but which pin from the opto-interrupter do u connect to the din? I can see three pins available... cheers

    Bank LED?

Do u mean which bankstick is being used...? Not sure if this may help you, it's from a post in the German forum (i dont speak german - but occasionally run the page through an on-line translator to see if there's any tips/tricks/info i can pick up on as i'm quite new to this)... Anyway, this is lemonhorses' site: http://www.subfrequenz.net/techlog/mbox64b.htm - he has a 12 pole 3 layer switch that is connected to the bank eeproms and leds to indicate which one is active... Gonna implement the same idea in my box too... HTH...
  16. hey oozi... i'm in the same boat mate - my first proper outting with a soldering iron to... I don't have any EE exprience at all but i'm still gonna avva go - even to the point of makin my own pcb's... Without adoubt this wanting to learn how to do it is cos of the ingenious of the MBHP... Props to the one like Thorsten!! Good luck fella!!
  17. found em ...;)
  18. not 2 worry, gone through the site again and read the mb64 tut - quote: "LEDs: Used to indicate if a button is pressed or not"... ;) sorted...
  19. ye, similar to them, tho they are gone now... where did ya get ur's from...? cheers
  20. Just to clear up... On my mb64 controller i want 3 rows of 16 buttons for mute/solo/rec. When one of these buttons is pressed i want the LED for that button to light up - for this would i use the LEDs available frm the DOUT module or should i just route the button to it's own LED? these LEDs wont be used for ne other function other than this... Cheers... Dan PS : my SIDs arrived today!! and my LCDs!! :))
  21. it was an ebay jobby... aint checked the auction since, may be over now... cheers
  22. Hey Steve... Glad your box is runnin nice n smooth... As it goes, i'm wanting to do one too ;) - so was wondering if you could gimme ne pointers i should look out for when interfacing the modules (3031/tbDac/MB64). I'm gonna make a single PCB for the MB64... That 909 looks v nifty too...these two in action with the mbox64seq runnin would be quite nice i imagine... ;D peace...

    which PIC

well...dude... With the current firmware the one u want is the Pic16F877-20/P, as stated - tho i think some of the other /# varitions might work... The crystal is just another component thats needed... The newer PIC18F452-I/P will be used for the forthcoming version of the MBHP - which is gonna be very nice...

    which PIC

    See: http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=parts_q;action=display;num=1035183136 Best... D
