Oui et non ;) Tout ce que tu cites est vrai, même si certain journalistes en font parfois un peu trop. Zorn est un musicien tellement VASTE dans son oeuvre ( il sort une trentaine de disques par an sur son label tzadik.com) qu'on pourrai s'y perdre. Pour l'exemple, lors du cocnert il a joué des morceaux de jazz qui ferait la berceuse pour un nourisson, puis du jazz qu'il appelle "musique juive" (cf la formation Masada), et aussi du Jazz-Core (pour l'étiquette) à faire trembler mon voisin qui avait du mal à encaisser les guelantes du sax et du crieur (Mike Patton pour l'occaze). Bref si tu aimes la musiqe, en prenant le temps, y'a pas de raison qu'on ne te compte pas parmis les prochaine fans ;) RAF

hey DIYers, escpecialy SID users : As you vampirize old C64, i did the same with some Atari ST from a friend to get the ym2149 chip but also the PSU (Power Source) from the computer. here's a (bad) picture : http://www.jerashmusic.net/raf/ataripsu.jpg Let me give you the details : Input : 220/240V 50W Output : - 5V , 3A - 12V, 1.6A ;D So you can have the power for the Core module AND the SID board in a single reliable package ! You only need a few screws ... does anyone have previous experience with that ? it all looks good RAF

Salut ! Je viens de rentrer de vacances, après un voyage jusqu'en pologne pour voir un concert de "John Zorn's Naked City"  :o  :o Il est maitnenant temps de se remettre à la MB. Ma première étant presque terminée (il ne reste que les LEDS à monter), je suis en train d'en préparer une seconde qui contiendra quelques innovations : 1) ne trouvant pas de SID, je vais essayer d'intégrer une YM2149 (Atari). 2) un générateur de kick ANALO (à base de VCO, ADSR .. comme sur les synthés) qui sera déclenché par une sortie du module DOUT. hi ken, i think you should use the Floorborad project by T.Klose. But you need to modify the source code a little bit, so that (for axample) pedal 01 will send a "MMC Start" message instead of a "Program change 01" message. This is a question of 4 or 5 bytes, no more. If you don't know anything about programming, then jsut ask the question here in the forum. I think Floorboard can be the solution. RAF

Hey, thanks for all these replys. After hours on the net, i've jsut realized how YM chips are everywhere. Even if less powerfull than SID (replying to thorsten) i think i'll have some work on it as i now have a chip at home (d2k : the documentation was found on the same page ;D) Now seeing this ISA BRIDGE :o ... this is the way to reuse my old ISA soundcards. This look very interesting Thorsten. Do you plan connectivity for only 1 card ? Would it be restricted to Yamaha OPL chip ? (by the way i don't really know what are these chips, could you help) Thanks again, RAF

hello SID users :) while considering building a SIDstation, my friend showed me 3 old Atari with a YM2149 soundchip inside... mmmm any chance to use them instead of a sid ? i found that page : http://saint.atari.org/html/doc/ym2149.html it looks like the device can be controlled with a PIC. Can anybody confirm that ? i could be involved in the creation of the box, but would need some support for the programming side. RAF

just a little question : in your schematics it's a PIC 16F with a 10 MHz crystal. Is it possible or a mistake ? thanks RAF

what confuses me is the term "8 pots in a bundle" I don't see how i could connect only 8 pots together while there is only 1 0-5V out on the ainx4. i hope its clear enough RAf

thanks thorsten, but i'd previously seen this picture. In fact i meant a "Photography" :-[ Because As i see in this picture (drawing) it's like there is a lot of cables leaving the ainx4. would someone open his MB and take a detailed photo ? sorry for the mess. raf

salut, je me suis pas encore penché sur les encoders (je suis encore en train de finir la MB64 avec un pic16f) mais j'y pense pour bientôt, dès que je chope un crystal 10MHz pour passer au MIOS. Donc il faut absolument des 36 impulsions pour que les encoders marchent ? S'il ont peut faire une commande groupée d'ici qq semaine je serai intéressé, tenez moi au courant. RAF
