  1. That really comes down to a decision about whether you want to save the filter settings with the patch, and whether you want to be able to automate it (MIDI CC's). If you want either of these things, then it is best to use the AOUT board.
  2. You got it in one. The wiki is there, and some people have done build logs, but if you want a real solder-by-numbers kind of document, it is yet to be written.... IMO the beginner's perspective is the best one from which to write the document :) I would really appreciate it if you were able to do this.
  3. LMFAO!! :D :-* :o :P :-X :'(
  4. First midibox and first programming and you made that? amazing! I would suggest that you make a post in the user projects section of the forum, and you can attach files to that, and put the details in the wiki.
  5. I felt a great disturbance in the force, as though a thousand recycler's voices cried out in envy :)
  6. Hahaha actually that one got caught up in my filters because it mentioned atari and midi and c64 ;)
  7. Welcome aboard Doug! I think you might be the first person ever to visit the chat first, and post afterwards :) LOL you sound like you've done this before ;) It's not terrible, and the quality is reallllly good. I'm sure Wilba will agree that his frontpanel is not far short of perfect. That said, these cats are mad bargain hunters.... Patience ;) Is it ready yet? ;D
  8. OK, I'll be patient. Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? ;D
  9. Ahahahahahaaaa!!!
  10. Wow, you'll have missed seq v3, and mbsid v2, and mbnet, and the 4685... omg you missed a lot of good stuff... but if ever there was a great reason, you have it! Congratulations man, that must be a blast.
  11. I've come to the conclusion that A can mean anything, and B, can mean anything. ;) 200137078849 Interesting. Not my cup of tea, but I think some of you might be interested in it... 110153904337 That one, however... Well, let's just say that if I were in the USA, I would not be posting it here and attracting attention to an auction I planned on winning ;)
  12. http://www.splicemusic.com/ As a sequencer, it's balls, but as a flash web-toy thingy, it is by a large margin the coolest thing ever.
  13. Ahh dangit... I had a big reply there but the browser crashed. Bast**d It was some stuff about how polyrhythms require different tempo as well as a different meter (to the other track)in order to syncronise the measure start points, unlike polymeters which are just a different meter at the same tempo. MIDI only has one metronome (0xF8 aka clock) so the device has to support quantising the beats at different tempos to it's master clock, the F8 (or a multiplier of it). Yes, you can do that with a timestretch tool, or better yet write it in notation so you don't have to fumble it post-writing, and there are a number of other tricks, but it's cumbersome, and although it is possible to obtain a similar effect to a polyrhythm, I'd call it a hack, not a supported feature. For example can you think of any seqs which support a separate snap-to grid in the piano roll editor, for each track? Individual tempos per track? Etc Etc... All I can really remember (except a bunch of tech talk I can't be bothered with retyping) is that I said "I can combine my skateboard with a chainsaw motor, but that doesn't make it a car". I think that'll do... besides I didn't want to hijack, just to give a theory lesson :) Although I could split this off into another topic if you guys want to discuss it further? Obviously I am very interested in the topic and what you guys think of it :)
  14. Welcome aboard goonzy. You know, in the time it would take you to ship the completed box, you could learn all the skills you need on a cheap kit... And this is a DIY project, so it's encouraged that you do so.
  15. Yeh that's my favourite part too
  16. LOL I love that smiley can we add that one Twinny? :)
  17. I'm in for one PCB k thx ;D
  18. I say put your name on it Sasha! :)
  19. You're awesome. That's Awesome. Awesome. :o
  20. Nah I reckon because people interested in these are obviously not DIY-phobic and if they see the label on the chip they might google it and discover that they're ;D
  21. I thought it already was? I know that if I close the window without logging out, I stay logged in, and then when I log in again, my old instance is logged out simultaneously. Same happens during a timeout. I like that! It's fun!
  22. No you weren't! ;D (I'm joking)
  23. I am a dipsh** :-[ Sorry mate, I did go and download the datasheet, but I missed the colour in there (in case anyone else wants it, it's in the backlight section, ~575nm) I was sceptical about the contrast ratio though, it says 5:1 but I would expect higher from FSTN (like ~ 8:1) and I wondered if the datasheet was incorrect, but their STN are 3:1 so maybe it is right after all...
  24. Because I spent #$%^&* hundreds on them and God hates me ;D
