Core Module- Barebone system possible?
stryd_one replied to henrygr's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
This is your thread.... This is your thread on LSD. There was an answer hidden in there... Yes henrygr you can leave that stuff out (not that there is much) :) -
Nice one Dano :) Welcome aboard!

I think you're right, it's time to admit that parallel aint gonna happen :( Now that I think of it, that doesn't help much either... Even though the MOTU will network, the XP/Vista version of the software doesn't allow editing of the 2nd IF in the net. I think I'm going to have to go MOTU and buy a Mac to make this happen ::) Shutup AC, I know what you're thinking, yeh I should've had the mac all along, who asked you anyway LOL <-- joking buddy Seriously though I think I might have to try the IIC router option first, with some clever programming I might be able to sort it out...Like sharing a channel for CC's and Notes and SysEx and then routing the one channel to different ports etc... I dunno. What's up with that though? 16x16 setups are not that rare, and nor are PC's... Apparently no manufacturers have noticed!

I'm sure I'm on some terrorist alert list already thanks to all the electronics I import... I don't think customs would take well to such an order .. Maybe one of our kingpin suppliers could fly the private jet down under ;D Mike? Smash? Hahaha I just had a funny thought.... imagine when drugs get legalised, all the eBay listings ;D Maybe I shouldn't have had that xmas drink LOL -
Hi Mick, The file you you downloaded is not a .zip file, it's a .jar file, but because your PC is incorrectly configured, your browser has renamed the file to .zip. Just rename the originally downloaded file to .jar and you're all set. I should probably recommend that you take a look at the search engine both here and on the wiki, where you would have found this answer much faster :)

I just counted again... 278, once the MBFM, MBSEQ, MBSID and vX are finished... It's a freakin nightmare. It's a very nice nightmare that I worked very hard for, but a nightmare nonetheless heheh I think I can cut it down to 200 or so if I don't use all the sampler channels and I don't use automation on all the FX channels, but that's unlikely ;)

???????????Šš???!!!!!!!! :o What's that ;D -
You might want to look for COG or TAB LCD's .... They're generally thinner because they compress or move the driver circuitry. Hope that helps!

Yeh I know, but I meant that if america can decide to change the spelling, then why not artesia too :) I'm just being silly, thought I'd make light of the typo and pretend it was deliberate ;) I think the joke was lost without being able to see the smart-alec grin on my face hehehe I love the festive avatars guys, and they have 100% WAF! hehehehe

Hi all, This forum is full of really clever types, so I'm hoping one of you can lend me some advice... I need a lot of MIDI IO. I've long since outgrown my MOTU MIDI Express XT 8x8 interface, and I need to upgrade. I want 16x16 with full routing and filtering, that works standalone also (so the PC can be off), uses serial or parallel interface (USB will be disabled on my DAW for best performance) and will be supported under Vista, Linux and Mac OS X. Don't ask for much do I? Now as far as I can tell, that doesn't exist :( There's the MOTU MTPAV and MTPII which can be networked, or the eMagic AMT8 and Unitor, but eMagic are long dead afaik, and MOTU have released beta Vista drivers with no mention of the parallel devices, and they took over a year to deliver drivers for XP, so I don't hold up much hope. I've heard the MIDISport 8x8/S is good, but there's no word on Vista support, and I don't think they can be networked or do filtering. I'd settle for two lots of 8x8 rather than a properly networked 16x16 if I have to, but it'd suck... But it seems that non-USB midi is dying with the release of Vista :( I'll also dump windoze if I'm forced to, but again, it'd suck. (not saying there's anythning wrong with linux or macos, I'm just used to windoze.) Can anyone help? Or have I set the bar too high once again ???

PIC18F2550 KS0108 Graphical LCD Oscilloscope Thought this might interest some of you :)

Yeh the frontpanel is actually red, but the boards are packed with such density that no light can escape it's gravitational field ;) Proof of it's power of attraction is that you missed this quote: Hehehehe So I wonder if I'm the only one who's imagined a whole fracrac packed with these? ;D

Seeing as the word has been mentioned a couple of times, I just gotta say: Don't overclock DAW's.
-
I Agree.

I missed that... Yeh I used to more than double that on a P3 1GHz. Mind you I tuned the living &*^t outta that thing, my mates' 2GHz P4's couldn't beat it :) ... Oh and they were all server-grade parts... I'll sign off by pointing out the oxymoron in the topic: "robust audio pc". hah. ;D

Muse Receptor 2U Rackmount VST Host ...nifty and reliable apparently...

Yeh sorry that sounded way more harsh than it was meant to. Typing hurts a bit at the moment (so does soldering :'( ) and so I'm trying to be less verbose, but that backfired, it was a little too 'short' ....post edited, I stand corrected :) -
Complete with MBSeq built in :) http://www.enmusic.by.ru/index.html PS While I'm off topic, Sorry I'm quiet lately, arthritis/RSI is giving me hell...
