Das LCD wird direkt angeschlossen. Einmal LTC (für In/Out LEDs und MIDI Thru und 2nd Out). Netzteil ist schon mit drauf. Aber Trafo oder so brauchste halt noch. Am besten ist es, du verwendest schon vorher ein kleines Netzteil (ca 7-9V, 500mA). Die kleine Anpassschaltung auf der Core ist nur dafür da, die Polarität richtig zu setzen und dann auf 5V runterzubekommen (per 7805). Also: 1x Core + Netzteil 1x LTC 2x DIN (eins davon nur zur Hälfte bestückt - siehe MBHP) 2x DOUT ("") und halt noch nen Bankstick, aber der ist ja easy.

Nö, ist leider nicht so egal. Also: 30 Impulse/Umd heißt halt nunmal auch das. Wenn du einmal rumdrehst kannst du irgendwas um 30 Einheiten erhöhen. Bei MIDI (127 Einheiten) wären das dann 4 Umdrehungen um von Null auf 127 zu kommen. Und ohne Rasterung deshalb, weil die firmware die Impulse dann "quadrupeln" kann. Sprich statt 30 I/U hast du dann 120 I/U. Und das ist natürlich super. Eine Umdrehung um von Null auf 127 zu kommen! /edit: Habs grade gesehen: Mit Rasterung... schad.

Das mit der Bestückung steht im MBHP immer bei den Platinen mit dabei. Bei einigen (z.B. weil du ja nur 8 Taster haben willst), kannst du einige ICs weglassen. Und für die Core einfach nur die benötigten Steckleisten drauflöten. Ansonsten müsstest du schon alles so bestücken, wie angegeben. Wegen den Tastern: Dann einfach nur eine (statt zwei) DIN&DOUT (die beiden an Jumper 8&9) Platine benutzen und da die entprechenden Tasterpins einfach freilassen (die Anschlußbelegung findest du auch im MBHP auf ucapps).

Irgendeine Ahnung, ob die zu den STEC16B03 kompatibel sind? Also ohne mech.Rast., 24 Imp/Umd? Hab nix darüber gefunden...

Yes, thats normal. The only thing you have to look after is if the verifying is ok. When it is (the programm doesn´t complain), everything is absolutely fine.

Hmmm, I calculated a little and checked it on TI. I putted the following into sampling: 10x 74HC595 10x ...165 10x ...00 Together you would pay about 8 Euros at Reichelt. Not too much... just the question if its worth it. You can only get logic ICs at TI (nearly only...). But also some OPAmps and so on. You can maximally get 10 pieces of one kind and maximally 8 different pieces. Since there are not multiple DIP packages available, not to great for us, I guess (no chance to get 20x of one 74HC...). :-/ Advantage: They said that stuff is gonna be at mine on Monday. THAT IS FAST! Lets look if everything goes well. Will post then again. whatever: 8 Euros are 8 Euros. :) /edit: Hey, anyone knows more companies for sampling? Would be cool, I also will check for myself (especially for pots&buttons).

Hmmm, passt überhaupt nicht hierher, aber trotzdem: Kennt jemand eine gutes *deutsches* Forum über Audio-Sachen (also vom Recording, Mastern, Mischen, Business bis hin zur trockensten Klangtheorie). Englische Foren sind ja hier in dem Forum schon öfters mal empfohlen worden, aber leider kein Deutsches. Warum Deutsch? Naja, ich bin derzeit auf der Suche nach einem guten Buch über Mixing, will es mir aber nicht antun, das Ganze auf Englisch durchzulesen. Ich kann aber schlecht meine englischen Kollegen nach einem deutschen Buch fragen... Hat da einer was? Evtl. auch nur ne Page oder Newsgroup o.ä. Thnx!!

I had to wait 90 days. No idea how they calculate that... :-/ But however, doesn´t matter at all. We mustn´t complain about that. I mean: 3x16F=ca. 27 Euro 3x18F=ca. 33 Euro 3x24256 = ca.15 Euro 3x24512 = ca.18 Euro (or so) THAT´S ABOUT 90 EUROS!!! WOAH!!! FOR NOTHING! That´s absolutely cool! BIG Thnx to Microchip. ;D :D If others would do that to (especially the pot and motorfader producers) we would save even a lot more money! btw: I also heard of Texas Instrument Samples (the 74 series e.g.). But I dont know if thats really worth it, because those chips are really cheap. Anyone experiences with that? (and original prices?)

Yes, you can. You can change the LCD Layout in LC_CLCD.INC for your needs. There are also horizontal and vertical graphs availabe there.

Yeah, Microchip is really cool with that: 3x16F 3x18f 3x24256 3x24512(compatible to 256!) No problem! And that is my second order! If we throw all unused chips together, we can open a PIC shop sometime! ;)

Hey there! Anybody thought about combining the MB64 and the MB64Seq in one box? Would be certainly cool, because they both use nearly the same buttons/pots. Suggestion: What about an three-way 40pin Jumper somewhere? Anybody has another idea? (What about external RAMs for both programms?)

Hmm, could be a hard one. As the graphic LCD is only supported by MIOS, you would have to reprogramm MIOS to a step sequencer. This is a hard one! I wouldn´t try that!! You could try that: Just built a normal MB64 and a MB64SEQ (4 track seq) and connect them together via MB Link as described on the page. But I really dont know, if the MB64 Seq supports the Link! So: Perhaps you should really stick to the normal stuff: Building a MB64Seq (with a character LCD) and a MIOS Midibox (with the 24 pots and 8 faders or more of those) and use the graphic LCD there via MIOS. You can link them together with a MIDI Merger, which is also available on the page. Another advantage of that: You also have two seperate devices, so you are more flexible. What do you think of that?

I see it like that: Nearly every normal computer has an serial port. So that 2COM Interface is alright for those. As a parallel port has much higher data transfer rates a parallel to MIDI would be like shooting mosquitos with a bazooka. For laptops the USB2MIDI Interface is ideal, isnt it? Its small, it needs no additional power supply and you even have an extra MIDI i/o port! So there is not really any need for an parallel2MIDI thing, is there? Look up the USB device on ucapps.com (in the MBHP). There are also the drivers downloadable. P.S.: There are very cheap gameport2MIDI cables with drivers available in good music shops. If you have a gameport, you could try this, too.
