Yes, it is still available, but only a few ones are still left, I think. They will discontinue building it, because of the "inavailability" of the SID chips (6581, 8580). They are just building 100 more and thats it (and that was about one or two months ago). So, there are just a few left, but there definitely wont be in some time!

That can be pretty long!! Its just an digital on or off. I would guess at least 5m or more (especially if u you use a shielded cable!). If you should encounter problems, or want to make it even longer, you can lower the R at the depending pin of the IC, which pulls the pin up to 5V (the original R is 10k I think, so you could go down to 4,7k or so). But I would rather first try it out with the original R, so the IC doesn´t get blown accidentially (although this shouldn´t happen as long as you keep the R above 1k). Just use a shielded cable and everything should be pretty fine up to 5m or more.

:P *beruhig* ... ;D

OK, I´ll get in there with 16 for the SID (and one to jump on if something does not function). Postal Code and so on per PM, can you tell me how much the shipping costs will be?

Und auch noch ein paar 24LC512, weil die sind kompatibel zu den 24LC256. :D

Whats about a little MBPlus? On UCApps. You never can have enogh controllers! ;D Or perhaps some Midimonitor? Especially for a cool SMPTE display (with reeeeaal digits! And all so flashy - i like flashy stuff). Or a Midimerger! So you can use all those parallax pot modes and so on together with your keyboard on one Midiport! (Details: Midibox64 / Tutorial) You see: Just go through UCApps, there is much stuff there to do (even for a 16F874).

??? That worked! I had no idea that this is a feature of IE... :P I never would have come to that idea... thnx! *weirdweirdweird* You are seeing a very confused pay_c in front of you right now... *weirdweird*

Yapp.

Its not an endless pot, its just a (very, very expensive) 360 degree pot.

;D ;D ;D cuse me! It just came over me... better? ;D *peep*

That with the LED current isnt quite right Steven... :P Those LED rings are multiplexed, meaning: If you have e.g. 8 LED Rings with 11 LEDs in each ring, the 11 LEDs are switched through all the time. So also if ALL LEDs are lit, there are only 8 LEDs draining power in one moment. 8x20mA=160mA (muuuuuch better, isnt it?) disadvantage: Some low-quality LEDs dont switch all on in that short period of time (thay appear darker), so you have to go up with the current a little (to 30 mA or so).
-
I always check the current like that: I dont switch on (the fuse holder is right behind the switch and shortened) and measure the current between the both pins of the switch (so the MB comes on). Then I just put all LEDs on, the luminence of the LCD to the max and so on and take the current as a basic number. Meaning: If I read like 200-300 mA I use a 500 mA Fuse, if I read 500-800 then 1A and so on. I always put the fuse behind the wall-adapter, as the most adapters already have short-protection inside. Hope that helps somehow.

That had to be some work!! Especially all that SMD stuff putting on the PCBs... So all DOUTs and DINs are on that board there? Did you design it in eagle? Can we have the file? ;D Just interested in that file! Have you made the PCB yourself? Or ordered it somewhere?

It was the *peep* IE6 !!! Here on Netscape Nav everything fine... *peep* Microsoft stuff again! Argh, whatever. :P Getting back to posting! ;D /edit: putted *peeps* in there ;D

LOL :) No, it really looks all weird here. I´ll try Netscape and Mozilla, perhaps its better there... *weirdweirdweird* ... :P :P

Hi! Say, doesn´t the forum kinda look weird? I have here very big fonts. Is that only on my comp, or do you have the same prob? The forum didn´t work here for some days and now I have fonts which have to be like 32 big or so. ???

I would suggest that you build some MIOS core. There you can use pots/encoders and "normal" LEDs at one time. And since you (I think so...) will use this thing only for Traktor, there is no need for a bankstick or for changing the #CC parameters. You would save one core and one LCD that way (and wouldn´t have two different devices in a row). If you don´t know what I´m talking about, check the MIOS Introduction page. It´s quite not hard to programm some MIOS app by yourself, also check the examples.

Th best way is to connect the LCD in the next step. It´s the most easy part to connect. And you can need it for the next boxes as well (I always have some kinda "test LCD"). If the firmware is loading up well (saying something like "Midibox 16E © by Thomas K." or so), the core is absolutely good.

Yeah! Under "Midibox of the week"! Thats some good one! Right, Steve! ;D

As far as I know, there are no 2x55 displays available. At least not with the standard protocoll (KS... or so). But many people just take two 2x40 Displays to add more space up there. Would that be a solution for you?
-
Dammit! :o How did they make the variable backlight (any idea?) ? ? ? ? ? Thats really cool! And those illuminated buttons... phew. Thats some good Midibox they made there ... ;)
-
Welcome to the board and happy soldering and MBing! ;D
