  1. hey it s not always so nice to be proved right! just a hint or two: in my box i decided to mount a MBLC and MB64E that gives me a bit of more flexibility, and the automapping of the LC will ease the whole setting process. A 2 cores solution could be useful in your case cause you could assign 1 core to the "fixed" parameters: start, stop, lcd, fixed function buttons, etc and another core to the "banked" parameter where you could use the midi channel swapping Best thing would be coding your own app in C but i see your box is quite sophisticated and it could take a bit to do that. EDIT: to make it clear: in a MB64E the group function affects only the encoders, the Meta event to change the channel will affect the whole box. In a MBLC you have a GPC mode to have all controls sending normal MIDI data and a 2 layers function to double all the buttons/encoders simone
  2. hi no there isn t a C version of mb64e and there won t probably never be one!, C is suitable to build your own personalized apps.Believe that doing some basic stuff is very easy (if i did it! pfff) get the skeleton, add the function you need from the C codes example. As DB pointed out you can always implement the MC protocol (it s available in C, but in alpha so you you may have to pick up what you need and add it to your app) simone.
  3. hi very pro looking, i need to work out a little art work for my panel, it looks so "empty" without it. I see there is a common idea around ableton midi controllers (see sasha s, DBs, etc), i am more keen to have full control over plugins than tracks.I seldom use more than 3 tracks, what i use most is a bunch of plugins to tweak the sound in real time. Some tech specs of your box? simone
  4. dunno why don t you use mb64e ? what about programming in C ? simone
  5. hi as S1 was pointing out you have probably 2 full stuffed COREs (i mean with rectifier capacitor etc), if this is the case 6 volts DC MAY not be sufficient, and those kind of supplies are usually not very stable and their voltage can vary depending on the load (they don t use ICs), let s say that you could: 1- skip the bridge rectifier 2- open the supply and connect the transformator aoutput directly to j1 3- buy a 9 volts AC transofrmer 4- get a supply with higher voltage at output simone
  6. hi i think that the only way to fry a PIC is to feed it with over 6 volts, it can t get "stuck" anyhow sometime. You may try to upload MIOS again, if it doesn t work with the "wait for upload request" feature in MIOSStudio, you ll have to do it manually, that means to power on and start the upload within 2 second without the automatic feature, and you ll probably have to try it a few times if something has gone wrong before in your PIC, before it ll accept the new MIOS As an extreme remedy you can reset the PIC with a burner. It may be that you ve sent it a sysex that is incompatible with the older version of MIOS you had there maybe this PIC had a more recent MIOS installed ? Simone
  7. this is what ucapps says about that app. no encoders are accepted by default Simone

    Chat Room

eemm all i can say is that human beings are not always completely coherent with themselves and what they say and like.. i mean here we like straight well done electronic things, MIOS improved for low latency, modular systems and so on.. well the chat is the chat is where you go and relax after a soldering session or even chat while soldering, where you laugh for stupid jokes and discover new things, it can get harsh from time to time but there is usually a cool atmosphere and respect. Now I (we?) got used to it, like i need to be flushed from time to time, and believe me, as a linux user i hate flash! But i got used to it, it s my beloved flushy chat! We had to move to an IRC channel when the server went down, and it was better, it worked better but... Anyway i am not against IRC we could start a poll and see what people think about it.. Simone
  9. ..as Uwe Schmidt says.. "La vida es llena de cables"
  10. me alegro ! esperamos fotos..
  11. [tt]cimo waves the voodoo chicken[/tt] SmashTV i remember we talked about soldering cables on raw piezos any hint?
  12. hi the drum i was talking about is a almost top serie Roland v-drum of the TD line. have you got cables already soldered on your piezos? i don t and ST warned me about the danger of heating up too much the thing.Any advice? simone
  13. no, this is another issue, you won t be able to use the meters as a real time control over volume, i see you are using just one lcd atm 2x40 right? select a page for startup (default 0) and tweak around and you ll prolly get everything in place
  15. ..about diy pads.. i have access this year to 2 different edrum, a cheap 400 euros set and a 2000 euros roland machine.Believe me that you ll never be able to make pro pads.Launching samples and having some kind of control over velocity is doable but getting the same response, feeling and precision as a $$ machine is nearly impossible.Same goes for the electronic hardware, i can see how in the Roland gear everything is fine tuned, starting from the mesh all the way up to the software and its setup simone btw i have a bunch of piezos here at home which i never used, they ended up in the famous waiting pile
  16. i just wanted to inform you about this nice event produced by a friend of mine, i ll be there! http://theinfluencers.org/en
  17. are you aware that there are 4 different pages and that in some of them the channel strip messages are not showed?
  18. hey i exchange dancin lesson for your shrooms , a deal? PM me btw: monster movie and your face just tell me one word: Zappa! (are you a direct descendant?)
  19. you! Germans British Irish how do you dare complaining about your beers and beer glasses? .. you should come here and taste our ... well let s call it beer .. Murphy in Cork, the bitter one in London, and .. south Germany oh delight! 8)
  20. you mean din right? can you be more specific about your setup? have you changed accordingly to your setup the io_table file? simone
  23. err absolutely nothing :D let me link you: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,10378.msg78441.html#msg78441
  24. from Edrum.info: so you can just connect the analog board to the analog input of a core and read the velocity as you would read a pot .or am i making it too easy? again from eDrum .could the separate supply circuits be a problem? (that shouldn t) simone
