  1. After a while I decided to open the box ... SD card was detached ... I think post office is to blame. Well, it was easy to fix and now it seems to work :D Also the datawheel cables were not soldered in place.... gotta check the wiring schematics! Thanks, Roope
  2. Hello, I just got an old seqv4 in to my hands. Kinda new to it - first time with Seqv4. I have tried to do some sequences and archived some success. But when I try to access SD card I get the message in the topic title! I opened the box and there is my SD Card. Also, I know that this thing has been used a lot, so I assume it has to work properly. Thanks in advance. Tomorrow I will continue my efforts to build a song. UPDATE: I did turn on the MSD USB and got the drive to show in Windows explorer, but when I click the drive, it says there is no disk in the drive... Gahh... ;)
  3. Me too :console: I already thought that the boards were mine...
  4. Uuha aah ooh!!!!! So nice!!!! :w00t:
  5. Recording... My favourite recorder at the time is Tascam 238 cassette 8-track. Really really good for recording line sources. My mixer is fancy tubepreamp TL-Audio that have given me so much headache, but now works really nice. It has dedicate firewire interface for all 12 preamps and integrates a computer really nicely to my analog studio. I have spent thousands on the equipment and finally prefer a 100$ Tascam, cassette and old behringer mixer :D Its not the equipment really ... The cassette is, as Nils stated, 1000x better than booting computers and cursing with HD space. 20 minutes of 8-track recording with normal cassette (I don't even prefer metal etc cassettes) and the system is runnin as soon as you hit the power button. The TL-audio mixer is quite nice, but way too big. I was also after a&h mixer that was shown in previous posts, but for some reason paid 3x the sum and got this. Next big investment was a few really good mics ... I don't prefer line sources always and have some really nice Hohner keyboard amps to drive guitars, bass and synths... Recommended - these suckers cost less than 200e at your local Ebay. 30e postage to Finland :D Makes a difference compared to what a daw can make to the sound. Let it bleed :D
  6. Hi - I have Roland 104 sequencer that I love. Can't enjoy playing if its unpowered. Last time I managed to sync my midi devices by sending Roland 104 gate pulse to "Human Clock" device that is supposed to translate bass drum beat to midi tempo... But the result is a bit artistic as the tempo varies a lot when I change the gate parameters. So - the best thing for me would be to get -/+5v gate pulse on every beat and synch the analog sequence with it. Ok, Nestle
  7. MB6852 getting the tempo as a gate pulse or sending tempo as gate pulses. I have running MB6582 and half finished AOUT_NG Next I could use some ideas what would be the easisest route to get my ROland 104 gate pulses to sync the mb6582 or other way around. Roope
  8. My "brand new" Tascam 238 :)

  9. wait, there was a metal band using SIDs? can't remember it just now, though :) by how I remember - they managed to match sid and guitars quite well. not that I liked the band, just underlining the VAST possibilities of sid -chip. :puppeh: Nestle
  10. Seems ridiculously cheap. :D I paid at least 700 for the parts and used 2 months to get the thing running. Est. value 20 000 € (lost sanity not calculated). Building and getting sound out of the synth is worth more than 20 000€. I would never buy me a one. I bought x0xbox from this very same forum and have cold and professional relationship with it. With my MB6582 I have very passionate and intimate affair going on. Nestle
  11. Hola, Is it easy to spot the first diode using this picture??? There was no burn, no visible damage or even a foul smell. :hairy: :hairy:
  12. Hello, I just bought Akai MPK49 midi controller that the user blew by using 12v adapter. It uses usb-power and optional wall adapter. The thing is dead and I am about to open it. Any suggestions how to repair it? I will post some pictures when I open it. I check if something looks or smells weird first :D Do you think it is an easy task to repair such device? I haven't seen any fuses in these devices, maybe diodes would stop the evil electricity? Thanks, Nestle
  13. Yeah, I have heard about that also, but can't get the name to pop into my head!!! Frankly... I have to take a break from soldering. I promised myself that the KaffeSEQ or MBSEQv4 is the next... I am on strike or something :D Next summer maybe! Nestle
  14. OK, 2 days of Kleeing around. yes, it is a brilliant seq. The new one - m185 - seems nice too. This is pretty much just what I need. And it can be used in more programmed way too. Its nice! Fruity loops on the other hand ... It would take me 2 months to make such a bassline than with Klee - on the other hand, creating automation to the synth values is "a bit" more difficult with Klee. But, it is good to have something to do live also :D Next question is - What would be the best hardware controller for Klee etc --- at least those 16 encoders, but maybe a short keyboard for controlling notes also? :homestar: Nestle
  15. Hiya! Yes, I have thoughts about paying the Klee and use it in my jam -stuff. Maybe I need to practice either FL or Ableton for my other needs. Ableton seems so modern that I am not sure if its completely for me. Propably is, but man... And also it might have lasting appeal also. FL is so nice because it has been around for "a while" :D Gotta try that M-185 out right away... Super cool. Roope
  16. Höm höm.... Krhm  Could you post a cool patterns for mb6582 for me to test FL in a "demo environment" I have these superbig problems with it ... Can't figure out how to record continuous loop... It just extends it and such stuff.... I should watch a tutorial videos more, but all of my time goes working and spending quality time with my wive :D Thats why I was so after simple. But if you can throw a few patterns here, maybe I just could find the time to study as I see that things are possible! Roope
  17. Hi, Dunno if this is a right part of the forum but I feel this is better than FM or SID portion of it. Well... I have been playing with Klee sequencer and really like it. But my puny brain didn't quite figure it out in two 20 minute sessions. Can't spend 40 dollars yet :D Ok, And I have tried Fruity Loops, have studied Ableton Live. What I really need is just a stand alone seq to play around with my mb6582 and when it's not available, maybe some other vst or hw synth. Klee was really near what I have been searching, but somehow it seems better for jamming... What I am about to do is somekinda punk disco with some real instrumets and a MPC. so some basic baselines and pads and sweeps... a few channels and easy interface. We have a live band and would like to record at least patterns and choose them manually while the song goes on. Not a song mode required. Despite that the Klee made really nice sounds - I would like more basic approach. This really is killing me. Fruity Loops is really nice - they say at least - sequencer part of the fruity loops isn't for my brain either. My old analog sequencers are just so nice to play with. But I have to admit - Roland 104 is a bit limited when it comes to playing a bunch of songs. Any recommendations for electroretard? :flowers: Nestle
  18. Hello hello! Perfect! I am building cv and was just thinking what to use as panel. :D Maybe it is still available? Thanks, Nestle

The whole patch sharing is really weird thing. Maybe it would be better to share individual lead/bass/drum patches. Just make some silly ones and hope that someone brags with "better one". The whole bank ideology is way too demanding and also kills sound replies and fun in collective sound creation. It is way better to have hundreds of separate files. I will post all the sounds I save. We have first session next wednesday so maybe I come up with some presets then. After one year of patch posting I think we should have enough muscle to collect the best ones as a patchbank. One per year would be more than enough. If such individual patch tread exists, please share - haven't found one this far. Nestle
  20. If you follow the Hawkeye phototutorial this is easy problem to face, as you get yourself in such a "almost there" mood after all the leds etc - then after you solder encoders you don't test it until you try to fit the cs into the case. Then it is easier to slip to alcoholism than get back from "almost there, almost dancing "its finished dance"" -mood, back into the dirt - file in your hand :D Check the hexes ;) (I think I also had the encoder .1 mm from the pcb - I did press it down and cut the hex a bit. So check all the encoders too - some of them are really low tolerance - tight tight tight to the pcb) Roope
  21. For me the CS gave some serious headache too. The reason was that when I glued the 10mm thread hexes one near the filter resonance encoder was 1/2 mm too much in the right. I after filing it for more than enough everything fitted perfectly. I think that that hex spacer is not that important - JBWeld was just too tight to remove it :D Roope
  22. I did buy a custom acrylic window from the forums. It was 5 euro deal and has the window at the same level as the CS surface ... really nice add! i can't remember who I bought it from, but the stamp says: 27-10-09 Nederland €1,54  Thank you mr. Nederland
